Scott Williams says he doesnt remember hearing gunshots or feeling the bullets that created nine holes in his body.
Steven Ray Baca, 31, is charged with two felony counts of aggravated battery causing bodily harm for shooting Williams and for forcefully throwing Julie Harris to the ground during a protest over the controversial Juan de Oñate statue in Old Town on June 15.
A preliminary hearing to determine whether theres probable cause for Bacas case to move forward in the 2nd Judicial District Court was held via Google Meet on Thursday. It will continue Friday before Judge Cristina Jaramillo makes her decision.
Baca is also charged with misdemeanor counts of battery for pushing another woman to the ground, and unlawful carrying of a deadly weapon.
One of his attorneys, Jason Bowles, said Baca acted in self defense by shooting Williams because Williams and another man hit Baca with a skateboard. Bowles also said the battery on Harris should not be a felony.
Williams said Thursday that he ended up with nine holes in his body and is still recovering from the injuries. He said he stayed in the hospital for four or five weeks and is dealing with nerve damage in his right leg, broken ribs and bullet fragments in his pelvis.
Williams said he recalls having a hard time breathing after being shot. His father, a retired EMT who was also at the protest, was one of the first people to get to him.
Prosecutor John Duran showed the judge video depicting the confrontation between Williams and Baca. It was choppy due to it being streamed over the internet.
Only four gunshots can be heard in the video. Williams said he didnt know why he had so many wounds and didnt know how many times he was shot.

Ah yes. Equal just-us under the law. From what I could tell by the videos posted, it was justifiable. Fearing for his life.

Your link goes to a Fox News clip on the Middle-east peace deal.
LOL! Glad I didn’t click it yet. Thanks.
But it was a video though. Entirely unrelated but a video non the less.
Only four “heard” shots, but nine holes in the attacking perp. Must have been some fragmentation to make those exit wounds. Maybe Mr. Baca needs to use better hollow point ammo. No antifa attacker should be living after that shooting.

Let’s try this one: https://www.kold.com/2020/06/17/graphic-content-video-shows-shooting-during-protest-over-spanish-conquistador-statue/
You stated succinctly what the video shows.
That is what I saw, also.
And ‘they’ want to disarm the public?
That’s a good video. The bleeped portions have the mob shouting “we’re going to kill you; we’re going to f*****g kill you” as they chase him down the street. He had been pulled to the ground when he brought out the gun to shoot. They would have beat him to death if he hadn’t shot.
bkmk
Nine holes with four shots?
Was he shot with FMJ, got entry and exit wounds and then one bounced off something hard after fully penetrating, and re-enter?
Or maybe the surgeon slipped a few times and poked more holes.
Bullet hits arm, passes through, hits leg passes through, that’s four.... Rinse, repeat....
