No one really cares WHAT type of 'mask' it is; as long as you COMPLY with some manner of obscuring your face.
So in other words, it’s not about stopping disease at all, but just about covering your face to show obedience.
Almost all African American churches locally have opened. This will probably kill mainline liberal congregations who were barely hanging on as it was.
All Methodist churches are closed by order of the Bishop but I was curious about the African American one nearby. It wouldn’t surprise me if they were meeting

The key conflict shows up with your use of the term social gatherings..
A protest is a social gathering and so is shopping at wall mart. The government is saying it’s okay for these people to gather but not for churches. You have to either let everyone congregate or you have to put such brutal repression on the general populace that one is shot just going out on the porch. The Brutal logic of reality is showing the utter futility of trying to contain the virus by curtailing the freedoms of some while allowing others to congregate openly and socially especially those groups that stick their middle fingers up at America.

Mr mm and I have been traveling between NY and NH quite a bit and it’s a long enough trip that you just have to do a rest stop.
The welcome centers in VT were closed due to COVID, so what did they do?
They set up Porta Potties outside the welcome center. Now, what rocket scientist in the state of Vermont figures that porta potties are a better deal for preventing the spread of COVID than an indoor, CLEANED bathroom?????
They are closing the welcome center to protect the public and making them use porta potties instead? Words fail me to express the level of moronic imbecility behind that kind of reasoning.
