Dr. Anthony Fauci, the nation’s leading infectious disease expert, said a new study could explain the extraordinary range that people experience with the novel coronavirus, from having no symptoms at all or a mild case to hospitalization or death.

The discovery, which found potential signs of immunity in people who had previously been exposed to other types of coronavirus, could also expand the hunt for a long-lasting COVID-19 vaccine.

This morning Fauci has time to give a 7 minute interview with a reporter on the local High Point, NC television station. He is head of the federal government’s infectious disease program during a pandemic and he has time to yak with a reporter in a third tier market? How many other interviews is he giving today?

The man seems to be constantly seeking interviews with the press, modeling photography sessions by the pool, and unmasked baseball appearances on national television. When does he have time to do his job? Or does he really work on infectious disease problems?

Ignoring Fauci for the moment, this could be interesting information if true. But you would think the older someone was, the more likely they had been previously exposed to a coronavirus. Maybe pre-existing conditions would trump that.

But what about the younger population? You would have to figure, at least in the US, that they haven't been exposed to coronaviruses as much during their lifetimes. Despite that, they seem almost immune from the non-mutated version of COVID-19.

COVID-19 seems highly targeted. Those who believe this was a manufactured virus are likely right. Interesting how the medical "experts" knew this was a dangerous virus months ago, yet still haven't figured out how to best deal with it.

- Show up at Nationals Park to throw out the worst first pitch in baseball history
- Run around said Nationals Park without a mask just to rub our noses in it
- Pose for magazine cover photos by his pool
- Endorse the idea of hooking-up for anonymous sex on Tinder
- Give away the names, locations and employers of his daughters in an interview so that he could later complain that they were getting death threats
- Show up in Austin, Texas to appear at a thoroughly partisan political event with Hillary Clinton.

You are right. A serious scientist would be in his lab working away looking for answers. Not doubling as a circus sideshow attraction.

I would challenge that statement. He's certainly the best known, but a Doctor who's been actively working in the field the last two decades would be more of an expert. Fauci has been a bureaucrat for longer than that.
