For years, gun-control advocates told us that it is the job of police to protect them. But now, the same people who want to ban gun ownership also want to defund police, replacing them with social workers who won’t do anything to stop violent crime. Police are extremely important in stopping crime. Indeed, academic research shows that they are probably the single most important factor in reducing it.

I hate to say but when I look at what has happened in St. Louis with the McCloskeys and then the other day in Fort Collins I’m again convinced that defunding urban police departments is the way to go.
In St. Louis the police were totally absent when a mob forced their way into their own mayor’s neighborhood. Yet they were Johnny-on-the-spot when it was time to seize guns and participate in an illegal action against the McCloskeys.
In Fort Collins the ‘Back the Badge’ folks held an event IN FRONT OF THE POLICE STATION and when they were attacked by Antifa scum the police managed to be unaware of what was happening outside. But when Antifa got their butts kicked oh THEN the police ran in to break it up! And then the police chief CONDEMNED the people who were supporting the police!!!
That’s gratitude for you!
So yeah, get rid of the urban police since all they seem to do lately is protect rioters, looters, and communist scum.
It’s time for We The People to restore order!!!

The police can not protect you at the moment of crime. They are the good guys but criminal assault and violence takes place in mere seconds. Under the best of circumstances they are several minutes away.
In reality one is responsible for protecting themselves on a short term basis. That is why we have the second amendment, that will cover both criminals and enemies foreign and domestic.

It’s an ambiguous situation. As much as we want to support and honor the police, in recent times they have generally speaking been less than worthy (to put it mildly).
They may eventually have to make a choice.
