Rep. Ro Khanna, a California Democrat, called the House's planned monthlong recess "absurd" and urged Congress to continue working on coronavirus relief legislation.

Khanna, a progressive, said he's remained in Washington advocating for a deal between Congress and the White House.

"I think Congress should be in session," Khanna said Tuesday during a Facebook town hall with his constituents. "I think it's absurd for Congress to be going on a break during a pandemic and a national crisis."

It’s August

Congress never works in August, especially not election year August

While I would prefer that most would stay on “recess” for the remainder of their term and some should be in prison awaiting trial, their not being near wdc is a blessing of sorts. It is pathetic that these losers get paid by the taxpayers.

How on Earth did our Congress go from being representatives of the people to people from third world countries ruining our lives. We have learned NOTHING from 9/11.

Congress is a useless anachronism of the past. They should all be replaced by one donkey and one elephant.
1. It is way less expensive;
2. There would be less noise; and
3. Any mess they make is a lot easier to clean up.

They are Democrats and that’s what they always do. Stick it to the people who blindly vote for them. Their motto is “screw the surfs”.

Rep Ro Khann (D., Calif), "I think it's absurd for Congress to be going on a break during a pandemic and a national crisis." "

Truer words were never spoken.
Most people forget that Pelosi and Schumer stalled bi-partisan budget considerations and balked for 10 days,
until Pelosi rolled into town with her multi-trillion dollar Liberal Wish List which funded Pelosi's pork causes which had nothing to do with covid.
Unfortunately, the electorate's memory is captured only in 15 second sound bites by 'talking heads' on mass media.

Why work for a living when you can mooch off the voters and get a 6 figure income, paid office expenses, paid travel expenses, the best rangd of medical plans anywhere, more vacation time than any 4 people, and still become a multimilloonaire on the side taking advantage of all those hints about stocks moving around as you pass laws?

Trump called for lower taxes etc so the democrats are going on vacation for the month of August.
They have not done anything since end of July so Trump sign executive orders giving money to people in a few weeks. Democrats to sue of course.
The democrats are leaving 10’s of millions without any money.
Pelosi made at least $6 million in insider trading of Amazon stock so she don’t care.

Congressman Ro Khanna: Joe Biden will be the “bridge” to a progressive future

https://www.cbsnews.com/news/congressman-ro-khanna-biden-will-be-the-bridge-to-a-progressive-future/

Congressman Ro Khanna is known for his progressive politics, and served as co-chair of Senator Bernie Sanders’ presidential campaign. However, he has now fully thrown his support behind former Vice President Joe Biden, the presumptive Democratic nominee, and says that a Biden presidency would be far preferable to four more years of President Trump.

“Look, I don’t sugarcoat it. I don’t think Joe Biden is going to lead us to the next progressive era. I think he’s going to be the bridge,” Khanna told CBS News Chief Washington Correspondent Major Garrett in an interview for this week’s episode of “The Takeout” podcast.

—snip—

A bridge? a rickety one at best. one more looming disaster for all of us at worst.
