Andrew Cuomo's got a load of nerve.
Imagine being one of the relatives of the thousands of elderly nursing home residents who died as a result of their residences becoming sealed incumbators for COVID, which Andrew Cuomo literally ordered. These people were banned from visits from their own families for their own 'safety' they said. Yet it was Potemkin stuff, they had no protection from COVID, as they had to breathe the air of coughing, infected patients all around them, with absolutely no way to get away from it. Once they got it, they died alone.
It's the biggest scandal of the COVID era.
Cuomo's policy killed at least 6,000 nursing home patients, with a new report out today that the number looks grotesquely undercounted. According to today's Associated Press:
NEW YORK (AP) - New York’s coronavirus death toll in nursing homes, already among the highest in the nation, could actually be a significant undercount.
Unlike every other state with major outbreaks, New York only counts residents who died on nursing home property and not those who died in hospitals.
That statistic could add thousands to the state’s official care home death toll of just over 6,600.
But the administration of Gov. Andrew Cuomo has so far refused to divulge the figure, leading to speculation New York is manipulating the figures to make it appear it is doing better than other states.
Yet here we have it, Cuomo saying he won't allow an independent investigation as to why he ordered this on March 25:

Where does the buck stop again? Someone keeps forgetting.
Sue him and the state for about $100 billion. Discovery is a bitch.
Anyway, if the law allowed, those 6,000 people who lost loved ones because of Cu-homo's criminal intent, would have a monster of a class action law suit.
Were patients who could have died in their facilities moved to hospitals just to screw with the numbers?
Pay special attention to the numbers from skilled nursing facilities.
And why did Cuomo allow confirmed positive employees to work in their facilities before changing the policy in mid May.
This political clown must be prosecuted............
And still wondering if the mortality rate for dual-eligible Medicaid/Medicare WuFlu seniors is worse than it is for seniors with other coverage.
Very surprised to see that Fox & Friends made this their lead story this morning with Elise Stefanik (R-NY) as their guest. They also featured Janice Dean, who was uninvited from the hearing yesterday, and had everyone near tears as she told her story.
Hannah Arendt spoke of the “banality of evil”. Just sitting at a desk, pushing paperwork around, and thousands of people die. [shrug] Some people don’t lose any sleep over it.
The Democrats have decided NYS and Cuomo are so yesterday. He is in freefall.
I’m sure no one is surprised at this.
Main stream media covers for him, by not covering any story.
as the Times and WaPo are (democratic) state run media, why would they paint one of their own in poor light?
They’re not media, they’re simply propaganda.
Janice Dean puts me in mind if another question: Where the heck are the other grieving families?
Is the state buying off families of the dead with undisclosed settlements using taxpayer money and NDAs..?
Inquiring minds want to know.
I recall several news stories about nursing home operators begging not to have positive patients placed in their facilities and the threats made against them if they refused.
“Running Scared: Cuomo pulls out all stops to avoid responsibility......................”
He’s a Democrat! What else is to be expected?
BTW, for journo worthy of the job title who wants a good place to start digging, try Steuben County in Upstate NY.
Just a suggestion.
Depraved Indifference Law and Legal Definition
To constitute depraved indifference, the defendant’s conduct must be ‘so wanton, so deficient in a moral sense of concern, so lacking in regard for the life or lives of others, and so blameworthy as to warrant the same criminal liability as that which the law imposes upon a person who intentionally causes a crime. Depraved indifference focuses on the risk created by the defendants conduct, not the injuries actually resulting.
In one case, People v Register, 60 NY2d 273, 469 NYS2d 599 (1983),while exploring the meaning of “depraved indifference recklessness” the Court of Appeals ruled that intoxication is not a defense or excuse to “depraved mind murder,” although it may be to intentional murder. Its analysis started with distinguishing reckless manslaughter from the “depraved indifference recklessness” necessary for murder:
“to bring defendants conduct within the murder statute, the People were required to establish also that defendants act was imminently dangerous and presented a very high risk of death to others and that it was committed under circumstances which evidenced a wanton indifference to human life or a depravity of mind. . . . . The crime differs from intentional murder in that it results not from a specific, conscious intent to cause death, but from an indifference to or disregard of the risks attending defendants conduct.” 60 NY2d at 274.
But NY did things the right way. Dr Fauci.
Mass murderers of nursing home patients!:
Faces of PSYCHOPATHS. Exhibit A.
I'm sure they'll get to him eventually, after they deal with the few thousand other political clowns ahead of him in line.
