Chicago police arrested more than 100 people as looting and riots spread through the city’s downtown retail corridors overnight, CPD Supt. David Brown said this morning. The uprising was sparked by incorrect information about a police-involved shooting in the Englewood neighborhood on Sunday, Brown said.
Today, “criminals took to the street with confidence there would be no consequences,” Brown said, as he pointed to Foxx’s dismissal of earlier cases while not mentioning her by name. “We have to have consequences for the arrests Chicago police officers make.”
“Put your best people on this,” Lightfoot said in a message apparently intended for Foxx. “These people need to be held accountable…We can’t do it alone. We need the courts and the prosecution to step up.”

Someone needs to think outside the box, conceive of charges that fit, and arrest Lightweight, Foxy, the JudgeNots and the other power players responsible for letting things devolve to this level.
