Thousands of bikers heading to South Dakotas 10-day Sturgis Motorcycle Rally will not be allowed through Cheyenne River Sioux checkpoints, a spokesman for the Native American group said on Saturday.
The decision to prevent access across tribal lands to the annual rally, which could attract as many as 250,000 bikers amid fears it could lead to a massive, regional coronavirus outbreak, comes as part of larger Covid-19 prevention policy. The policy has pitted seven tribes that make up the Great Sioux Nation against federal and state authorities, which both claim the checkpoints are illegal.

Try and stop 250,000 bikers...
Acting like the demonicrat fascists illegally blocking roads and setting up checkpoints. Things will get very, very ugly too soon in America. I for one wish it were not true, but it is obvious that it will.
Very easy to get to Sturgis and the greater Sturgis Metropolitan Area without going through a Reservation.
The reservation is north and east of Sturgis. If they’re not coming on US 212 then they won’t pass through the reservation to begin with.
Just rename it the Sturgis Protest Rally, which will then give everyone immunity from COVID.
Democrat tribal workers block bikers
If the bikers are on a state or Federal highway, then they have every right to use it.
It’ ain’t smallpox, Chief!
(Was that wrong? Should I not have said that? If I knew that that sort of comment was frowned upon ...)
ROTFLMAO!! Well done! The creeps deserve it.
Uh, good luck with that.
Perhaps if If the Indians get some elders to beat drums in the bikers’ faces...
Good luck with that. I’m sure this does NOT have the blessings of the tribe itself.
These tribal protests tend to get out of hand pretty fast.
The tribal council issues some edict, and the other members of the tribe who hate the tribal council react.
The tribal council will set up checkpoints on a road and the other tribal members will attack the tribal checkpoints. I’m talking gunfire, fistfights and burning down tribal buildings.
Seen it twice when I lived near an Indian reserve. The tribe is in no way united on matters like this. Tribal members who own businesses will fight like hell against the political bureaucrat Indians paid of by the politicians.
Bikers form their hogs into a circle and....
Could make a decent time travel movie. Not in today’s Hollywood of course.
Reservations have every right and it's a smart move. They don't have the means to handle a lot of corona cases. The bikers can probably re-route pretty easily.
What are they going to do, block I-90 Interstate, good luck with that
Did you hear about the Indian who tried to check into a hotel? He didn’t have a reservation. :)
State and federal roads through tribal lands are not subject to the whims of the indians as far as I know.
They only have two wheels. They will go around the check point. Who is going to stop them?
