George W. Bush to release 43 portraits of immigrants in new book

(CNN)Former President George W. Bush will release a book of 43 portraits of immigrants in conjunction with an exhibition on the value of American immigration at the George W. Bush Presidential Center that will feature the paintings.

The book from Bush, a prolific amateur painter, will be titled "Out of Many, One" and will publish in March, according to a statement from the book's publisher, Crown. "Through powerful four-color portraits—personally painted by the President himself—and their accompanying stories, OUT OF MANY, ONE reminds us of the countless ways in which America has been strengthened by the individuals who have come here in search of a better life," the statement continued. In the book's introduction, Bush expressed hope that his book would help present immigration as a unifying, uplifting issue.

We had old folks in college art classes, trying to become painters. They were lousy and too eager to paint “modern”. Modern tends to cover up technique and color shortcomings. Bush paints like those hacks. Sorry.

Completely agree with this statement.

I don't blame the bureaucratic (eg. intelligence, immigration, etc) systematic failures that lead to 911, 9 months into Bush's term, on Bush just as I also wouldn't blame the similar bureaucratic systematic failures of Wuhan-19 on Trump, 3 years into his term.

Now, Bush's policies on illegal immigration, out sourcing of American jobs, the disastrous Iraq war and "nation building", among others, are his fault.

I’ve also read the FBI didn’t follow up warnings about weird flight trading customers. I know that Bush had been president for 9 months by 911 - not enough time to be considered accountable for his government? That's the problem we conservatives have - we're fiercely loyal to the lesser of two evils, because that's all the GOP establishment will give us. We marvel at how blacks continue to vote Democrat despite being let down over and over again, but we need to take a long, hard look in the mirror - we stick with Republican worms who betray us at every turn like we're in an abusive relationship.

Bush and Rove also had a program to fund down payments for low income folks who couldn’t qualify for mortgage loans. It was part of Roves Hispanic outreach. So Bush can’t escape partial blame for the Bush crash

Not having access to national security info, I don’t know enough about what Bush could have done to protect against 911, to credibly say he either did or didn’t do enough.
