Elon Musk: ‘China Rocks,’ America Is Full of ‘Complacency and Entitlement’

Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk stated in a recent interview that people in the United States are “entitled” and “complacent” while Chinese citizens are “smart” and “hard-working people.”

CNBC reports that in a recent interview with Automotive News’ “Daily Drive” podcast, Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk complained of the “entitled” and “complacent” character of U.S. citizens while praising the “smart” and “hard-working” people of China. This is far from the first time that Musk has cozied up to communist China.

Musk criticized New York and California, states that have both gone to extreme lengths to support Musk’s businesses with tax breaks, regulatory credits, and regular government help. Breitbart News has reported extensively on the government subsidies that Musk and his companies have taken advantage of.

Jason Stein, the publisher of Automotive News who conducted the interview with Musk, asked him “How about China as an EV strategy leader in the world?” to which Musk replied: “China rocks in my opinion. The energy in China is great. People there – there’s like a lot of smart, hard-working people. And they’re really — they’re not entitled, they’re not complacent, whereas I see in the United States increasingly much more complacency and entitlement especially in places like the Bay Area, and L.A. and New York.”

Everyone needs to remember Boeing got almost TWICE as much as SpaceX did for a crewed launch vehicle and Boeing’s test was a total disaster. He does say weird things and pisses off the left and right, but overall he produces like few can.

i don’t disagree with your comments, only that he needs to pay attention to what the Chinese truly intend. They will pay his price to have the spacex technology, and it is a national secret, equivalent to the Hydrogen bomb technology the Russians stole in the 1940’s.

I don’t think SpaceX has any sites in China, pretty sure they don’t. They probably, like everybody, have Chinese raised engineers working there. With Starship SpaceX is doing almost the impossible and I hope they keep all their knowledge and patents as secret as possible.

Chinese people work 12 hour shifts with 3 days off per month. They move from villages into cities hundreds of miles away and can’t afford to take their families with them. While they are away working the CCP floods the villages to keep the cities dry. I definitely want to take the word of a billionaire when it comes to cheap labor.

We built this country and our sense of entitlement comes from being prosperous enough to buy those teslas and pay the taxes and interest on the national debt that allow him to build the rockets that keep blowing up on the launch pad.

Well for the most part he’s not wrong.

He's right about many Americans being complacent and entitled but he's wrong about the Chinese. There's a difference in being hard working because you want to succeed and doing it because you're forced to be. He might as well be praising the slaves of pre-civil war plantations for being hard working. They were but it was because they'd get a whip across the back if they weren't.

He’s exactly right. There is more entitlement & complacency in America than hard work & sacrifice.

Same is true when a middle class family decides to stay home because unemployment pays more than going back to work.

Eon Musk speaks the truth. New York, Bay Area, and L.A. DO have lots of complacent and entitled people! Look at all the BLM support in the those cities, for example.

There are a few liberal-leaning people out there who pack tremendous electoral punch for our President.

They include: Elon Musk, Geraldo Rivera, and Kanye West.

poconopundit's FR vanities & memes
{Musk] puts in 16 hour days, 7 days a week and gets less than 5 hours sleep per night. He needs to rest.

* * *

There's another billionaire I know who has that kind of work ethic.  And I'm not complaining :-)

Apple (and MS, btw, and maybe even Amazon) are about 10 times ahead of Tesla in market value.
````
market cap
AAPL $1.948T
Microsoft $1.637
Amazon $1.615T
Tesla $255B - which is way overvalued. Ford and GM are $27B and $38B respectively
