I have seen this affect in Central VA. A lot of Yankees, I am one, have moved here and now the area is at best Purple.
Don’t come to North Carolina
Send them to Austin and wall off the city from the rest of TX.

That’s perhaps the worst part about Liberals in 2020.
It’s not enough that they just hold their beliefs and vote the way they want to vote. They have to also deliver constant snotty, scolding lectures to you about how you’re wrong about everything. They’ve taken Obama’s admonishment to “go out and get in their faces” to heart.
I left Seattle for southern rural KY nine years ago.
My oldest daughter left Seattle for Louisville, two years ago.
My middle daughter left Seattle for the Phoenix area two years ago.
My youngest daughter is looking to move to Kentucky or Tennessee now that her husband’s company is closing it’s brick and mortar office (internet company with about 40 employees), hiring all work from home people. He will keep his Seattle people, but hire no more people from Seattle (Tier one markets are too expensive and those high wages are un-necessary in a work from home world.).

Just like the aliens in the movies around Independence Day. They consume all the life out of a place and then move on. Like a giant tsunami, scrape away everything and leaving the area in ruin only to move further along and continue the operation.
We had one join my local Rotary club. The club was raising money with a trap shooting event. This guy began a tirade about the evil of guns. Maybe if he looked around he would have noticed that just about the entire club were CC holders.
When I noticed he was a recent addition to the local democrat club, representative of about 20% here, I knew exactly what he was, a north east liberal. Fortunately he chose to leave when he was not happy about our annual Christmas meeting. What an ass.
I was checking Zillow to see how much the 80 acres was sold near me there were ads for land saying “Escape the Zombie Apocalypse”. I finally met the guy while he was blading off a pad with a huge front end loader. Nice guy.
More like parasites that suck the life out of their host and when the host dies, they move on to the next warm body.
