New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio is implementing checkpoints to stop people entering the city from any of the 35 states that are on Cuomo's mandatory quarantine list and take down their details to enforce it.
Anyone who is caught flouting the rules faces a $10,000 fine.
The rule goes into effect starting Thursday August 6.

How do they get food and produce delivered to the city?

You mean when ‘they’ say Hold on, let me check the back that it is just a ruse?
Stuff isn’t grown and produced in the back?
Good Idea get rid of them trucks!!
I ‘pray’ that the /s isn’t really necessary...
Doesn’t think he’s driven enough nails into the coffin of his local economy, eh?

My elderly mother is on Long Island so I have no choice but to drive through parts of NYC either.
There goes seeing my daughters. One of them lives in MA and the other lives in Florida. I wonder when and if I will get to see them again.
[A few months ago Texas required people traveling from New York to quarantine and placed checkpoints at the Louisiana border.]
Yes, officer I have a Florida license plate on my car. I drove up from Florida in February and Ive been living under a bridge in New Jersey ever since then.
Hi.
“Escape from NY” is becoming a documentary.

Texas state police agency is increasing its presence on the ground near entry points from Louisiana to enforce a 10-day-old, coronavirus quarantine order for road travelers arriving from the Bayou State.
Late Wednesday, the Texas Department of Public Safety confirmed its ramping up enforcement of Gov. Greg Abbotts edict, though it declined to say how many checkpoints there are and where.
Checkpoints slow down everyone on a road in which they are placed. And there's really no way to know whether my Jersey plates mean I'm from NJ rather than someone who just picked up a rental at Newark Airport.

Have you seen pictures/video of NYC during the day lately?
There is NO rush hour traffic.
My office has Fox Business Channel on during the day.
They have a camera mounted on their building on the corner or 42nd street and 6th avenue pointed north toward Central Park. There is nobody there. Sometimes they show the live shot and there are a couple vehicles on each block.
They also have a camera in Times Square. When the show that during the day there are just a few vehicles and a few pedestrians.
Consider just the tourist dollars that the big cities are losing. Every year people go to NYC. They go to a Yankees game. A broadway show. Walk through Times Square. Go to the Statue of Liberty. Ground Zero. take the Staten Island Ferry. None of that is happening. Not only are the hotels, restaurants losing money. Think of the cab drivers. Hot dog cart salesman. Then consider the reduction in sales tax revenue for the city and state.

Hold on a sec. Am I missing out on some new program?
Enforcement without penalties is like religion without hell - theres no incentive to comply with its strictures.
Except for this piece of information on the link about enforcement in Texas.
Violators could face a fine of up to $1,000, up to 180 days in jail or both
LMAO! What is this Constitution you speak of. It only takes a liberal judge to become the Constitution and the scum liberal politicians to ignore it altogether.I never see the GOP defend the Constitution anymore.
“Haha...going to enforce this with the police that have left, de Blastio?”
No, he will probably use his Brownshirt, oh, I mean BLM and Antifa do it for him.
Period.
Full Stop.

What’s the law backing this up or is it just highway robbery?
We thought freedom of religion was well established.
