If you check Maps, the Port Silos aren’t hard to find. Immediately east of them, where the big blast warehouse WAS, you’ll find “new harbor”. Big enough to park a ship.
It vaporized the warehouse...and the dock underneath it. Fox and BBC both use the image behind their lead headline, without mentioning the extent or existance of the crater.
Yep- been looking around at various images- that “crater” is something else. Hard to believe only 100 dead and 100 missing but those numbers are sure to change.
The government has put the port authority staff under house arrest while they investigate.
Read somewhere the firemen coming to fight the first explosion inadvertently caused the big one by using water on it. Lots of speculation out there.
