WASHINGTON (AP) President Donald Trump said Monday that he had fired the chair of the Tennessee Valley Authority, criticizing the federal-owned corporation for hiring foreign workers.
Trump told reporters at the White House that he was formally removing chair Skip Thompson and another member of the board, and he threatened to remove other board members if they continued to hire foreign labor.

K-POW!
Finally.
It’s so nauseating to see our tax money used to screw us.
But..But...don’t you want your ‘services’ for less?
Yea, sure. But we don’t want our government dominated by foreigners.
Tough luck Skippy.
FWIW the TVA doesn't get any of our tax dollars.
James “Skip” Thompson is a banker from Birmingham, Alabama.
Good riddance.
Good! HIRE AMERICAN..enough of this hiring foreign workers BS..if those foreigners want jobs, fine, they can get jobs in their own country
My nickname for my nephew is Skippy too bad that dude has the same name :(
$8 million a year, how did anybody ever let this get so out of control?
So, a mere 20x what POTUS makes (and donates).
Tip of the iceberg, Im sure.
“FWIW the TVA doesn’t get any of our tax dollars.”
True, it is self supporting.
The Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) is a federally owned corporation however.
GOOD MOVE MR. PRESIDENT............
How long before a black robed tyrant reverses this?
How so? It is federally owned.
TVAuthority ...Get ready for some flak-flak emojo.
Doesn’t matter how quickly that happens.
It had to be done, so let’s get it on.
I did some contract work for the TVA some time ago. It was always amazing at the arrogance of their management people. Never saw anything else that compared with it.
Yeah, yeah, it’s self-supporting. Just like Fannie and Freddie and all the other hackeramas. Wait until they blled red ink and then see who bails them out.
For many years TVA was a very good customer. My competition refused to comply and just refused to deal with them
More, much more for me
Yes, but like most regulated utilities they set their rates to recoup their expenses so they're self funding.
The government nominates the board members who pick the CEO, and the board gets a stipend, but that's it. Everything else comes from the ratepayers.
Yep. I know one. Total a-hole. Makes BIG $$$$.
