A new bill in Trenton has been passed and is headed for Governor Phil Murphys desk that includes a 2.5% tax on health insurance for everyone in New Jersey. That money will be put in a health insurance affordability fund to provide health insurance for illegal aliens and to support the NJ FamilyCareAdvantage program.
The bill requires entities to pay an annual assessment that is 2.5% of the entitys net written premiums as defined by the bill.
The bill requires the commissioner to calculate and issue to the health provider a certified assessment that is 2.5% of the entitys net written premiums. The bill requires entities to pay the assessment issued by the commissioner to the State Treasurer no later than May 1 of each year, as prescribed by the commissioner.

One more reason to leave NJ.
So, since the ussc ruled Obamacare was a tax, now NJ is taxing a tax. Nice.
You know; New Jerseys taxes arent really high enough.
Lets make Health Insurance more affordable by slapping a tax on it.
And well use that money to provide health care to people that really shouldnt be here and in fact broke the law to be here.
Isnt that a really great plan to make New Jersey Great Again? Well make New Jersey great for the citizens of New Jersey!
/S
The media will say that this tax is paid by the “entities”- not by the consumers.
LOL!
I kinda want to just LMAO at anyone who’d believe such a blatant lie but... I’m compassionate to fools.
I hope that the average NJ citizen knows that it is them and not the insurance agency that is going to fork over that money.
I also hope that they realize that this program is going to be a magnet that is going to attract more and more illegals to NJ.
The cost of this program is going to go up and up every year.
If you think that NJ taxes are high now, just wait and see.
You should also realize that this program is also going to make the price of everything made or sold in the state of NJ more expensive because most of the health care insurance is provided by employers. Those employers will have to raise their prices because their expenses are going up. This cost of this tax will be passed on to the consumer of their products. NJ is about to become less competitive in the market place.
Correct....it just made the state one bit less competitive. You can figure over the next two years....another 2k to 3k small business operations will move out of the state....heading south. The amusing thing is that illegals in the state will see less job opportunities and vacate the state as well. So this money generated goes into a empty pit.
“From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs.”
Next up: Taxing bank accounts...
Maybe.
In Ohio a great many if not most work in the construction industry where they either work under the table at lower wages or simply undercut US citizens on wages.
Others work as farm labor at low wages.
So, if they can work at low wages and get free health care why not come to NJ?
It ain’t that amusing. All those liberal assholes flee and contaminate the red states. I think this is a systematic way of turning the country blue. It’s already working in Texas with Californians screwing up the state! Invasion on the conservative snatchers!
More good news for these cities of rot
Illegals get their health insurance, you pay
I have to assume you live there or there would be no reason to say that. Or you left there. Because only a person who is not all there would make such a blanket comment about a state.
I think people should move out of states where the average income is what it was in 1970 and where they take much more money from the government than they give to the feds.
. That would be a whole bunch of southern States and Midwestern states
In fact nine of the top 10 takers
Got something to be very proud of
When the Democrats started talking about “affordable health care”, you knew this was coming...
The rule of opposites.
So the retired folks on medicare hit hardest?
Ten bucks says that NJ doesn’t have the authority to tax the many Medicare plans that exist.
When was the last time that a Democrat Executive, i.e. Mayor, Governor or President, passed an overall tax DECREASE, defined as *NOT* a case of lowering one tax but offset by raising another tax with an effective up-charge to the taxpayer? In short, is there any instance of a Democrat not loving tax increases?
Inquiring minds and all of that!
This is just the beginning. In the aftermath of this insane, CONTRIVED financial mess, expect even states without an income tax to enact one, probably with retroactive effect. We are going to have to make up the billions and trillions of dollars stolen by democrats and their enablers for many generations to come.
Feds force you to buy health insurance. The state then taxes it.
Perfect system.
