It is really just different motions, on the same underlying case.
Last July, the Supreme Court ruled that the use of DoD Counter-Narcotics funds could continue, until the issue was finally settled by the Courts - all appeals exhausted (i.e. makes its way up to the Supreme Court itself).
Now they have just refused a request to withdraw that ruling.
Last year, it was District Court Judge Haywood Gillam, ordering the President to cease and desist - the Ninth Circuit just decided to let that stand, until they got around to deciding for themselves on the appeal.
This year, the Ninth Circuit got around to agreeing with Judge Gillam, so the case will go to the Supreme Court next term (if they accept it).

Whenever I hear that uninformed opinion I start spouting off all the special interest groups who are in opposition to the wall and they are obviously not republican or trump supporters so, who you gonna believe?
The guys taking photographs of the wall going up and telling you how many miles have been built and how many more are in progress or you gonna believe CNN, MSNC, PBS, TDS, ABC, CBS, NBC etc etc etc....????
No liberal out of the tens of millions of liberals in the US today would side with Trump on this issue. This is sacrilege for the liberals.
At worst, Roberts is an inconsistent conservative who prioritizes institutionalism over conservatism.
I thought Roberts ALWAYS votes with Democrats (at least according to some here)?

While he’s certainly no Scalia, it’s been more than once in a while recently, a lot more.
Roberts is being told them walls will keep us in. Think about that.
Wow this was some big day for our president! The Dow shook off the media’s scary “GDP falls to -32%” in one day, then he hits 50% approval on Rasmussen and now Roberts behaves himself acts like the conservative he is supposed to be and Trump wins Wall money.
