Looks like the Democrats are trying to ram through a Trillion dollar bailout for various jurisdictions for pre-Covid budget shortfalls as well as uncapping the SALT deduction for high tax places like New York to short Federal taxes while running up Federal deficits with the bailout for the states. This needs to be talked about since they are holding foreclosure assistance, unemployment, and other Covid-19 aid hostage to things like increasing regressive taxation on most of the country while bailing out states and loading the debt onto the Federal balance sheet per the provisions of HR 6800 which is the Democrats bill.

“dealing a significant financial blow to millions of jobless Americans”

Tragic. Now, how about ending those business lock downs, so that they can earn an income again?

DJT should have told Mitch and the boys from the Chamber of Commerce that the $600 a week was going to be used to start a new war in Uganda. He would have signed off in a nanosecond.

Trying to reason with jackasses is assine.

The Senate should simply pass a bill with a liability limitation and $200 per week plus a 20% of the state amount add on effective for eight weeks after enactment.

The $1200 stuff should not be given out to avoid another drug OD epidemic and because the 20% add-on.

The payroll protection scheme should not be continued. People can file for unemployment without administratively overloading unemployment systems.

A Washington Post article said that France was pretty much back to normal.

good. Because not a dollar of the trillion or three or whatever is justified. Not a dollar for stimulus checks. Not a dollar for unemployment. Not a dollar for a damn thing. We are not a socialist country. S*** happens. Suck it up

people here are saying we shouldn’t be paying this but we should be getting that and this and the other thing. No. No stimulus checks. States have unemployment insurance and nothing else in there is justified at all. We are 26 trillion dollars in debt. What the hell happened to this board’s ideals?

for a while I thought well if it will get Trump elected... NO!!

we’re spending an awful lot of money to get a president elected. It never cost 10 trillion dollars to get a president elected before.

more than half the money will go towards graft. It was a scam shut down. I am done. Not a dime. I hope nothing is settled and they go on vacation...

until the elections. We are not gaining votes by spending 3 trillion that’s a fantasy

I know a number of Democrats, my dopey sister included, who have lost their jobs due to the state shutdowns, and these were good-paying State Government jobs that they all thought were bullet-proof.

Ha. Ha.

The unemployment processing is so backed up in our Dem-Run state, NONE of them have even seen DIME ONE as of today, let alone $600 extra each week. Sis DID get her $1,200.00 perk, though. She bought a bike and some shoes. Good planning, actually for biking and hoofing it around looking for work, LOL!

I doubt they’ll blame anyone other than President Trump and still vote for Brain-Dead Biden or his replacement. Can’t be looking to our Socialist Governor and the two Socialist Mayors we have in our largest cities, hardest hit by all of this self-inflicted B#llshiite!

This is a very difficult corundum.

The country needs to get back to work (obviously) but driving through my town yesterday we saw a lot of “for lease” signs and businesses with “closed” signs since March. So many of these businesses are not coming back.
