Their arrest is the latest event in their months-long standoff with Democrat New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy, whose lingering lockdown order has shuttered non-essential businesses for more than four months.
Speaking with Fox News host Tucker Carlson on Monday, Smith remained defiant despite his arrest.

Tyrant Governor Murphy has owners of Atilis Gym arrested while encouraging riots in the streets. Thats expected.
Cops complying with these orders is what gets me. Im done taking up for weak ass cops violating their constitutional oath
...
murderers are walking free in New Jersey despite the sheriffs vigilance to board up Smiths gym, Carlson asked him, You went on this show, you knew that that was wagging a finger in the face of the tyrants who run your state. You did it anyway. Why?
...
They [city officials, media] dont ever offer any solutions. Its wear a mask, shut up and wait for a vaccine. Thats not public health and I wont subscribe to it.
...
Because Im not afraid of tyrants, Smith responded. No American should be because we outnumber them greatly and the only thing that they run off of is fear, which is why you see what you see with the media, where theyre pumping fear into the coronavirus, when they should be pumping solutions.

Murphys initial lockdown was slated for two weeks, but has since drawn out for more than four months. Smith and his partner are among a growing number of Americans nationwide who are responding to state lockdown orders with civil disobedience. Grace Community Church, a prominent evangelical church in Sun Valley, California, made headlines last weekend when its senior pastor, John F. MacArthur, penned a statement explaining why the state had overstepped its legitimate authority by forbidding houses of worship to gather indefinitely.

Port of Seattle cop reminded officers to respect the Bill of Rights
Ian Smith should run for governor in 2021
Seriously, he should
The dude took the doors off his gym so Murphy’s goons couldn’t chain them shut anymore
that is balls right there
and in one moment the police summon the courage to throw away their integrity and summons a fellow citizen...
Smurphy proved himself to be non-essential (as well as grossly incompentent and criminally negligent for the nursing homes) after first two weeks.
Defund the police?
It takes people like this guy and that woman who kept her nail salon open in Texas and rebuked the commie judge to inspire others to fight. Also John MacArthur of Grace community church in Sun Valley California plus many more and you and us. It’s almost August! The jig is up!
I hope these guys have a big GoFundMe or a pro bono lawyer.
These are the times that try men's souls.😞
I do agree with that.
They need to remind us all that as we sympathize with the vitriol they are getting, they are still perfectly willing to put a boot on your neck if it preserves their pensions.
Makes one wonder how many of the long term care deaths were being supported by the state.
I’m a law abiding citizen. No cop needs to teach me a lesson or put a boot on my neck.
I would be pleased however if cops did their actual frickin job & confronted the anarchists with the same zeal they attack citizens for opening their business.
Cops have become servants of the state; they do not exist to serve/protect citizens. They will protect rioting murdering anarchists but not Joe citizen.
The cops are not on our side. Get used to it.
I am surprised beyond belief that some of those responsible for destroying businesses that folks worked their whole lives to build by forbidding them from opening have not been killed.
Not advocating, just surprised it hasn’t happened, YET!!
Why not just curb stomp Murphy’s goons when they showed up? The enforcers are legitimate targets.
Most people in long term care totally exhaust their assets within the first six months to a year, and at that point become Medicare/Medicaid.
So yes, the states saved a bundle and found their Final Solution to the Medicaid crisis.
