So much for Southern hospitality.
This fall, Tennessee will say goodbye to retiring Sen. Lamar Alexander, one of the last of the genteel Republican moderates in the chamber. And the race to replace him has turned into perhaps the ugliest Republican primary in the country with spurious super PAC attacks, Mitt Romney being invoked as a slur and President Donald Trump lining up on opposite sides as Sen. Ted Cruz.

“... Mitt Romney being invoked as a slur ...”
Which is one of the few ways his name should ever come up.
Haggerty and Manny talk da talk but my bet is H is a Lamar clone and M may walk the conservative walk.
Hello Manny.
Better late than never. Buh-bye!
My wife and I voted for Manny. No more insiders, no more RINOs. I wish President Trump had stayed out of this one, especially as I learn more about Hagerty.
Politico carp.
Well thought out response.
Hagerty maxed out giving contributions to Sen. McCain in mid-June,2016 when Trump and McCain were at the peak of their feud says the National Pulse.
That is unforgiveable. Hagerty now MUST be defeated. President Trump shouldve been warned this guy is a Derp Stater. Hell do nothing but seek to undermine him in the Senate and work with Demonrat Derp Stater Willard the Rat.

*TN Senate race ping*
Trump needs Mitch in order to keep the judges moving.
I voted for Manny
Although very close, I think that the race may be starting to tilt in Sethis favor. This is in part because of conservatives becoming more familiar with the two. Those who know both Sethi and Hagerty say that Sethi is the more conservative. Hagerty has been running a lot of attack ads at the last minute that are not exactly truthful, or at least dont tell the whole story. For example, he accuses Sethi of bankrolling liberal Democrats. The truth seems to be that, a number of years ago, Sethi gave $50 to a friend of his wife who was running for Congress. Hagerty doesnt mention that he himself gave at least $1000 to Al gore and $100,000 to mitt Romney. This is just a sampling of the scurrilous, last minute attacks. Hagerty also contended that Sethi didnt contribute to Donald Trump. However Sethi did give $10,000 to Donald Trump from an account that he controlled. It was just not his personal bank account. At the same time, Hagerty was campaigning for Jeb Bush and later for Marco Rubio. He didnt campaign for Donald Trump until much later. Hagerty seemed to think that he was entitled to the seat, and scarcely showed up at any events until he realized that the race was beginning to get neck and neck. Many conservatives who have met with him dont seem too impressed.
Dr. Manny’s ads have been pretty awesome. I recently left Tennessee, but I would lean toward Dr. Manny at this point. After Lamar and Corker, Tennessee needs to do better. The Tennessee Republican Party is a lot like the United Methodist Church in the state: the leadership is not nearly as conservative as the base. So many institutions seem to have that problem.
Politico = Fake News
The name Romney originated from a marsh in England. Stunningly appropriate given the comfort this creature has with the DC swamp and his hostility to a president who has done his best to drain it.
I’m leaning toward Manny myself...what’s the deal with his support of Obamacare?
That should read 'Democrat-enabling' Republican.
Manny entire campaign team are Never Trumpers .
The campaign head was John Kaisch lead aide and fellow Biden supporter .
You have no good choice .
I usually pay attention to the company one keeps .
Manny smells like a fishy .
genteel Republican moderate = squishy doormat who will fold at the first hint of appearing conservative.
So did my wife and I.
