Looks to me like each has landed some punches on the other. On balance I came down for Hagerty because he's been endorsed by both MY President Trump and My Senator Blackburn, who led the great, successful fight against a TN income tax that was sponsored by the odious RINO Sundquist.

“... Mitt Romney being invoked as a slur ...”

Which is one of the few ways his name should ever come up.

"This fall, Tennessee will say goodbye to retiring Sen. Lamar Alexander …"

Better late than never. Buh-bye!

My wife and I voted for Manny. No more insiders, no more RINOs. I wish President Trump had stayed out of this one, especially as I learn more about Hagerty.

“Hagerty maxed out giving contributions to Sen. McCain in mid-June,2016 when Trump and McCain were at the peak of their feud says the National Pulse.”

That is unforgiveable. Hagerty now MUST be defeated. President Trump should’ve been warned this guy is a Derp Stater. He’ll do nothing but seek to undermine him in the Senate and work with Demonrat Derp Stater Willard the Rat.

Although very close, I think that the race may be starting to tilt in Sethi’s favor. This is in part because of conservatives becoming more familiar with the two. Those who know both Sethi and Hagerty say that Sethi is the more conservative. Hagerty has been running a lot of attack ads at the last minute that are not exactly truthful, or at least don’t tell the whole story. For example, he accuses Sethi of bankrolling liberal Democrats. The truth seems to be that, a number of years ago, Sethi gave $50 to a friend of his wife who was running for Congress. Hagerty doesn’t mention that he himself gave at least $1000 to Al gore and $100,000 to mitt Romney. This is just a sampling of the scurrilous, last minute attacks. Hagerty also contended that Sethi didn’t contribute to Donald Trump. However Sethi did give $10,000 to Donald Trump from an account that he controlled. It was just not his personal bank account. At the same time, Hagerty was campaigning for Jeb Bush and later for Marco Rubio. He didn’t campaign for Donald Trump until much later. Hagerty seemed to think that he was entitled to the seat, and scarcely showed up at any events until he realized that the race was beginning to get neck and neck. Many conservatives who have met with him don’t seem too impressed.

Sen. Lamar Alexander, one of the last of the genteel Republican moderates in the chamber.

That should read 'Democrat-enabling' Republican.

genteel Republican moderate = squishy doormat who will fold at the first hint of appearing conservative.

I’m getting the impression that a lot of Sethi’s supporters really hate Hagerty. So if Hagerty wins, will they vote for the Democrat or just not vote? I don’t know if there is a danger the other way, of Hagerty voters refusing to vote for Sethi if Sethi wins. That’s the problem with a bitter primary—it could result in the other party winning. Normally the Republican nominee should win easily in a Tennessee Senate race. Even a popular ex-governor like Bredesen lost badly to Marsha Blackburn.

The “nasty” part of the race is coming from Establican Hagerty. Sethi is generally running a positive campaign focused on conservative issues. Hagerty’s campaign can be summarized as “Vote for me because I am entitled to win and because McConnell secured Trump’s endorsements-for-judges deal.”

DailyRollCall.com has continued to provide extensive documentation regarding Establican Hagerty’s anti-conservative record. Based on his history, a Senator Hagerty may well make Lamar look like Calvin Coolidge.

I voted for Sethi with the hope he will do as he say. With Hagerty, I assumed he would do as he has done.
