Rocker Neil Young said that he has changed his mind and is now considering suing President Donald Trump over the continued use of his 1989 hit single Rockin in the Free World at campaign rallies.
Neil Young said the reason he is considering is the presidents recent decision to deploy federal agents to urban areas in order to quell weeks of rioting and destruction. The musician described federal agents as thugs and said the rioting has been peaceful, despite the ample destruction to federal property and private businesses.
I am changing my mind about suing President Trump. Reconsidering. Im looking at it again, Young wrote in a post on his official site.

Who is this guy to talk...didn’t he shoot his lady down by the river? I think there was a guy living in his van down there who saw the whole thing...some motivational speaker, if I remember correctly...I think his name was Foley...yeah, Matt Foley
I watch all the Trump Rallies. I only heard Rockin in the Free World one time and it only played for 30 seconds or so.
‘Rocker Neil Young’
I can’t seem to place the name...
Southern Man don’t need him around anyhow...............
Well he has done something with csn on occasion. We made it through 3 songs at MGM in Vegas a few years back. csny sounded like crap and the politics were the usual absurd BS. Good thing the tickets were free.
“the rioting has been peaceful.”
First of all, by definition, a riot is not peaceful.
Second of all, has this guy spoken to any small business owners who have seen their entire investments go up in flames? Or the people who are too petrified to go out of their house and walk down the street to buy some milk? And what about the three police officers who were blinded by some yahoo using a laser gun, apparently?
And the list goes on. And on. And on again.
You can add ‘comic’ Jim Carey and movie director (Sausage Party) Seth Rogen to that list.
Trump really knows how to push the buttons of these sanctimonious rockers and I love it.
Sure. Big bad Trump sent his stormtroopers to attack those innocent, peaceful “George Floyd” protesters who weren’t bothering anybody, didn’t burn buildings, didn’t kill anybody, didn’t steal, didn’t rape.
Only in the USA.
“Has anybody associated with the campaign bothered to listen to the lyrics? Its the exact opposite of rah rah.”
99% of people never listen to anything but the chorus.
“Born in the USA” wasn’t a patriotic song either, but Reagan used it anyway, and nobody cared, because nobody listened to the verses (except some music nerds).
Will one of the attendants kindly pat Neil on the head and give him his pudding.
I they’re paying the royalties, not a damn thing he can do about it.
Attack Trump on his own field of play. Do it.
I don’t think Young is serious. It’s just verbal bravado.
Very much so. I think people don’t listen past the hook. “’Born in the USA’ yeah!” “’Rockin in the freeworld’ you bet!”. Umm guys... Especially in this internet age. One can be excused for maybe not hearing the song right, especially with Bruce’s style of singing, but you can look up the lyrics, one easy google search.
Wait, YoungIdiot, how long have they been using your song, and you are now getting around to “considering”?
ROFLMAO.
They paying royalties or have a license like anybody else to play that song?
Yeah, sit the hell down and STFU, snowflake, kkthx.
Yeah, but he may sue you for reproducing his likeness without a license.
Whiny Guy from Canada hasn't done anything since before the helicopters went off the decks in the South China Sea after bringing people back from Saigon
Do it, ya’ petulant bitch.
One of the most annoying voices in rock.
