Wheeler’s posturing and positioning is disgusting. He’s suggesting that there’s violence from Federal agents, and wants needs to negotiate a ceasefire. What a jackass. Wouldn’t be surprised if there’s libtards right now thinking that we’ve invaded Portland and filling body bags.
Maybe Trump or one of his people should clarify that Portland is not at war with the United States. Then tell them to put on their big boy pants and enforce laws to protect their citizens. They don’t need Uncle Sam, they need to take out their own garbage.

I am not sure of the State’s culpability in the Portland mess, but can’t states be held accountable? Oregon should be forced to step in and enforce the rule of law in their cities. If not, they should be punished federally...forced to pay for the destruction...and fined

I totally agree with you. They will probably be on a long-term downward trajectory like Detroit, Compton, Watts and Newark.
Our oldest daughter, now 34, went to school in Eugene and loves Oregon and Portland. She was telling me again the other day her plan is to move there in the next five to ten years. I told her the city is finished, people are fleeing, and it will be in steady, long-term decline. She said “Dad, that’s just in the downtown area.” I had to explain to her how that spills over to the suburbs and surrounding towns. Normally she’s a know-it-all, but this time she actually listened to Dad. She didn’t come out and say she agreed with me, but her lack of retort told me that maybe she is starting to pay attention.
House prices here in North Idaho are being driven up very fast now by all the refugees from Portland, Seattle and California.
God help us if they win their bet.

Has anyone else noticed how the left likes to play games with words? “Negotiate a cease-fire”? This isn’t a war. The feds are enforcing federal law... if there weren’t laws broken, there’s nothing for them to do.
I’m not sure what there is to negotiate. If Portland or the State did their job and arrested/prosecuted people who damaged federal property and harassed federal employees, DHS and other agencies wouldn’t be there. The local law enforcement didn’t do their job (because they were ordered not to) and the feds stepped in. Portland doesn’t need to ask uncle Sam to stop... it needs to compel the rioters and protesters to stop their actions against the feds. Maybe the Mayor should speak to the rioters. At least that is actionable for him.
Where he should be publicly arrested for instruction of justice.
