The New Hanover County Sheriffs Office has ruled that UNCW Professor Mike Adams died by suicide. According to the agencys spokesperson, Lt. Jerry Brewer, after an investigation by detectives and the medical examiner, it was ascertained that Mr. Adams committed suicide with a single gunshot wound to the head. No other people were in the home and foul play is not suspected, he said.
Shortly after noon on Thursday, July 23, deputies responded to a welfare call at his home on Windsong Road in the Ogden area. The homeowner had not been seen or heard from in a couple of days, according to Lt. Brewer. Deputies at first werent able to gain access to the home due to all doors being locked. Once they were able to gain access to the home deputies found the homeowner, Mike Adams, deceased in a bedroom. Records from the 911 call revealed that a friend of Adams told the dispatcher that he had acted erratically for several weeks and was under a lot of stress.
The tenured professor of criminology and sociology at the University of North Carolina Wilmington was set to retire this week as part of a $500,000 settlement, following growing criticism for controversial social media posts he had made during his time at the university. Adams had supporters as well as detractors, including those who saw his online behavior as an exercise of his first First Amendment rights, according to prior reporting by Port City Daily. Adams classes were also popular with many of his students, earning him generally positive evaluations and several awards for teaching, according to his UNCW curriculum vitae.
Don’t buy it either.
Demons = Liberals?
Did they recover the gun, was there powder residue on his hand, etc,...? Id like to see the autopsy.
Me either.
Was it his gun?
::How incredibly tragic that Prof. Adams wasnt able to seek or find help in battling whatever demons may has set upon him.::

I find it hard to believe he committed suicide. Professional hit.
You’re questioning whether it was suicide, and you’re citing the evidence that impending retirement, with a comfortable pot of money, means that suicide is less likely, and I am disagreeing that either of those conditions would make suicide less likely.
Reminds me of Walter Krivitsky, the high-ranking Soviet spy who “committed suicide” shortly after his defection in 1941. Shortly before this happened, he had expressed fear that he might be murdered, and that the murder would be disguised as a suicide.
Just as Vince Foster, Admiral Border, Jerry Epstein, and the Bing guy to name a few did. I do not believe a word of it.
If he was going to commit suicide anyway, why would he go thru all the hassles of negotiating with the university for a $500 grand retirement package?.............
It is prevented by not having something on a Clinton.
I think that none of us can know the pressure this man was under. He was reviled by his students and fellow professors. He has been under this type of stress for decades. All of this constant negative action against his opinions and him personally, including wanting to take his job from him.
The pressure that was put on him by the leftist mob was unending. Unless you have experienced something like this, I don't think we should judge. He may have felt completely alone and abandoned.
May God grant him peace in the afterlife.
Very sad.
L
LIES. It’s clear he was murdered.
She doesn’t want to be murdered by the Left.
Yeah, he “suicided” just like Epstein did.
Dont believe this for a second.
Mike Adams didn’t kill himself. Bottom line.
I am inclined to agree with you.
