Officials, organizations release open letter to Lightfoot, Dart urging non-cooperation with federal agencies

CHICAGO - Following the announcement of federal law enforcement agents descending upon Chicago in the upcoming days, 31 elected officials and 24 community and labor organizations have released an open letter to Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot and Cook County Sheriff Tom Dart, urging non-cooperation with federal agencies.
The full letter can be found below:
"Dear Mayor Lightfoot and Sheriff Dart,
We are writing to you to ask that the City of Chicago and the Cook County Sheriff’s Office cease cooperation with the federal agents being deployed by the Trump administration. Donald Trump has repeatedly demonstrated both his callous disregard for Black, indigenous, and immigrant lives, and his increasing inclination towards fascism and authoritarianism.

Stop sending Federal money.
Let them fend for themselves.
Absolutely, ab-so-freakin-lutely. This is BLATANT disregard for human life and property SOLELY for political advantage. These ANIMALS are literally sacrificing lives and property solely so they can blame Trump, it’s criminal and sociopathic

If these cities wish to secede from the Union, fine, tell them to get their governors to go along with it and secede....and lose all federal money.

Well, Trump did beat Hillary back in 2016. That was very naughty of him. Some might even say that it was unforgivable.
Hmmm... if you go read the article, Lightfoot is listed as the author. Didn’t know Lori is a jourinalist.
Also, Black Caucus Chair Kimberly Lightford is one of the signers. Wonder if she is any relation to Lightfoot?
So, now we have people and groups self identifying as against law and order and in fact are aiding and abetting the rioters.
Seems like some people are no longer afraid of declaring their “side”.
I am making this post to urge residents of Cook County to ignore all regulations issued by Lori Lightfoot. I further urge the rank-and-file Chicago police officers to call in sick for the next week.
RESIST.
