Is the tide receding? Is some kind of high water mark now being reached?
It's not just that Blacks are laughing at the lefty white sheet show shambles going on in dumpster-fire Portland. Now they're getting disgusted.
PORTLAND, Ore. — Black community leaders are urging local protesters to shift the focus of demonstrations back to the Black Lives Matter movement and away from what has become a largely “white spectacle.”
Standing in front of a large banner bearing an image of Rep. John Lewis, the Black civil rights icon who died last week, the Rev. E.D. Mondainé, president of the Portland branch of the NAACP, told protesters, “The focus has been moved from where it is supposed to be and made to be a spectacle, a debacle.”
“This is no new thing we’re experiencing. We have seen this from the beginning of time,” Mondainé said. “Four hundred years we have struggled as Black people in this nation. … We have been made to be the last that were informed but the first that were affected.”
His remarks echo those of Robert Johnson, the Trump-supporting billionaire founder of the BET network, who last month said that all the white dominance at protests, supposedly for Blacks, was loaded with absurd symbolism and little of practical use, and frankly was laughable:
"You know black people, in my opinion, black people laugh at white people who do this, the same way we laugh at white people who say we got to take off the TV shows," he said mentioning the "Dukes of Hazard," a decades-old television program that has come under fire for featuring a car emblazoned with a Confederate flag graphic.

We live near Seattle and have business in Portland several times a year. The damage being done is far worse than the looting and messes being made. Who wants to even go to either place and what does that do to property values? I am guessing that the overvalued areas are going to drop like a rock. Would you buy an overpriced house in Seattle or Portland? How many people are going to decide that they have had enough and try to sell their overpriced house and move to the surrounding area?
How about we focus on neither one.
The fact is that Black Lives Matter, Inc., is completely run by white people, it’s just another arm of the DNC.

It's adorable that he thinks this will have an impact on Antifa. Vote for the reelection of Donald Trump then, ya zombie.

Shift the focus from one communist movement to another communist movement. Hope they start fighting each other.
In other words, antifa is up to its neck in racism; the kind of racism characterized by thinking black (lower case “b”) Americans (upper case “A”) are incapable of making their own statements. It’s yet another extension of the democrat party racist paternalism, sufficient to prove the dem party is at least partly behind the antifa violence.
Good article, but it could have been even better.
Thanks to WWII especially, Portland is far blacker than the rest of the State, which better reflects the intention of her founding fathers.
While it accurately notes that the State Constitution rom the beginning banned blacks, and mentions that the Civil War amendments technically over rode this, it fails to mention several other things:
The punishment for blacks found in state, IIRC was enshrined in the constitution as something like 30 lashes, to be repeated every 30 days until the message was conveyed.
While the Civil War amendments may have technically over-ridden these provisions, they were not automatically stripped from the constitution, and remained so enshrined until the 1930’s when an initiative petition to remove them finally made the ballot and passed (it had previously made the ballot and failed an absurd number of times—like two dozen+)
Also to note: the Free Soil party meant free land (homesteading) that was free of slaves AND free of blacks, who were welcome to go to Liberia.

There was a saying around where I grew up: We aren’t racist, we can’t be. There aren’t any of them around here.
If you have lived through Bloody Kansas, it may make more sense. Two tribes of whites fighting each other over views on blacks.
My great-great Grandmother, who is buried in Salem and has descendants all over the State, is remembered by her surviving grandchildren (two left that I know of, the last WWII vet kicked off last month) as a bitter woman. If one realizes what she lived through as a small child and growing up before she moved to Oregon, one would understand why. Having a younger brother born in 1861 christened Jefferson Davis Scott was not quite the same as being a Boy Named Sue, but for practical purposes was likely close enough depending on where you lived. In her county (in south-west Missouri) the county seat did not function for nearly all of the 1860’s because the county was in the midst of its own civil war.
You can learn a lot about Antifa tactics by closely watching the live streams from the riots. You will hear the leaders giving commands, and sometimes catch discussions between members about tactics, planning, people traveling from other cities to work in the riot, etc.
Antifa uses basic organized crime tactics—and need to be treated by law enforcement as a criminal organization subject to RICO.
