The Washington Post on Friday agreed to settle a monster $250 million lawsuit filed by Covington Catholic High School student Nick Sandmann over its botched coverage of his 2019 encounter with a Native American elder.
Sandmann declared the victory in a tweet on his 18th birthday. Its unclear how much the newspaper settled for.
On 2/19/19, I filed $250M defamation lawsuit against Washington Post. Today, I turned 18 & WaPo settled my lawsuit, he wrote.
Thanks to ToddMcMurtry & LLinWood for their advocacy. Thanks to my family & millions of you who have stood your ground by supporting me. I still have more to do, he continued.
Its the teens second win in a whopping $800 million defamation battle against a number of news outlets including the Washington Post, CNN, ABC, CBS, The Guardian, The Hill and NBC.
CNN agreed to settle with Sandmann in January this year as part of a separate $275 million claim.
Sandmann and a group of his Covington classmates were vilified on social media after they were filmed wearing Make America Great Again hats after an anti-abortion rally while being yelled at by demonstrators.
Sandmann, then 16, was singled out after footage of his confrontation with Native American activist Nathan Phillips was picked up by CNN and other outlets who claimed the incident was racially motivated.
Footage released later showed it was the Covington students who were being harassed.
In a subsequent tweet Friday, Sandmann fired a warning shot at Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey.
We have settled with WAPO and CNN. The fight isnt over. 2 down. 6 to go. Dont hold your breath jack, he wrote.

You go kid. Bleed them dry.
Dont hold your breath Jack
...good one. Stick it to em.
I hope the deep state does not retaliate against this young man. Prayers for him and his protection.
Agreed. That young man needs protection. He is certainly brave.
This brings a smile to my face.
Perhaps there will be a staff meeting at the Washington Compost where they explain the settlement and caution reporters on proper journalistic ethics. Hopefully it will be followed by lots and lots of layoff notices being handed out in the newsroom.
Bravo to Nick and his Bulldog attorney Lin Wood.
6 more to go.
Chuck Todd will be deposed soon.
Wood will rip him a new one.
Owner Jeff Bezos probably wrote the check himself.
I imagine its possible, that some woke MOFO some where, is considering the possibility of arkancide. I hope he has good protection.

I LIKE this young man.. he FIGHTS.
I hope to see a lot more of this young’un in the future.
This wonderful case just highlights how slimy the mainstream media has become. They deserve to lose every penny.
And where is that fake Veitnam veteran redskin? Probably drinking paint thinner.
If you really want a good laugh, go back and watch the entire episode of that incident on YouTube. The Covington students were really just a small part of the incident which mainly featured the Black Hebrew Israelites abusing the sh!t out of American Indians like Chief Ten Teeth for almost an hour.
HA HA Ha ha haaa... Bezos could write checks like that all day long. The Com-Post will continue to spew propaganda without even a look back. Were retractions even part of the settlement?
Agreed. That young man needs protection. He is certainly brave.

No worries.. He now has the cash for 24/7 protection!
It’s not “botched” coverage. It was a deliberate and intentional fabrication designed to destroy a high school boy.
The washington post deserves to be put out of business and its assets redistributed to White high school kids.
The kid has swagger. Going after that smug, vial, leftist, piece of trash Jack Dorsey just made my day.
My DIL is an attorney. She sez that ‘undisclosed settlement amount’ means several things, some mentioned above like the defendant avoids financial disclosures, etc. In her opinion though the actual cash transfer to the plaintiff was probably a small percentage of the original lawsuit figure - somewhere around 10% - 20%. So even if the lawyers get 33% of the actual transaction amount, Nick has something north of $16mm in the bank just from this settlement! And there are 6 more lawsuits to settle.
He is going to be a very popular young man in college.
If he did it's no more than pocket change.
