$600 A Week Unemployment Benefits End Tomorrow
Forbes ^ | 7/24/2020 | Zack Friedman

Unemployment benefits expire tomorrow The $600 a week unemployment benefits are scheduled to end tomorrow. The Cares Act — the $2.2 trillion stimulus package — authorized $600 a week of enhanced unemployment benefits. The Cares Act references July 31, 2020 as the official expiration date of these unemployment benefits, which are also known as Federal Pandemic Unemployment Compensation. However, the U.S. Labor Department says that states can pay unemployment benefits no later than the week ending one week before July 31, 2020. Since July 31 is not a Saturday or Sunday, this means the week prior becomes the end date of these supplemental benefits, which are paid weekly or bi-weekly ending on a Saturday or Sunday. This means that for all states, except New York, the end date would be tomorrow, July 25. New York’s end date would be Sunday, July 26.

The vast majority of those laid off were folks making less than 45,000.

So with the ScamDemic Boost, these folks made much, much more than by working full-time.

Wouldn’t surprise me if some of these peeps end up rioting with the Rats over this.

Once you get a taste of gov’t dollars, hard for the masses to resist.

If the Rs remove this, Trump’s reelection will become much harder, but I suspect that’s exactly what McConnell and the boyz want.

I actually think the opposite. The reason they could riot is they were making so much money not working they could riot, including travel to nearby cities to riot. Take away the $, and they’ll be forced to work or sit their butts at home not spending $.

Why would it make Trump’s re-election harder? The only way you are going to 1) get the economy re-opened and 2) encourage people to work is to force some economic pain for shutdowns and to get people working again. My company can’t find anyone to work and we have lots of jobs open because people who were making $25k/year are now making $50k/year sitting on their butts at home doing nothing - those people were never going to be Trump voters. I could solve this problem easily and fairly.

The need to modify the system so that employers can designate who they have offered jobs to (to come back to work).

Everyone who has not received a reported offer to return to work should continue to get their unemployment plus the $600

Everyone who has received an offer but refused should lose their compensation.

Everyone who has received an offer to return and accepted should should receive $250 from their respective unemployment bureaus for 6 months regardless of their wages

I actually think the opposite.

DJT should be telling working Americans he's doing everything he can to ensure the continuation of the $600, and that it's the Ds & Pelosi who are refusing to renew the program. Some of his advisors are awful and IMO they are looking to damage him, and the cessation of this will do just that.

they should remove it because it’s ridiculous. You don’t give away money to win an election. Unless you’re a Democrat. Are you a Democrat?

No you couldn’t. The federal government is incredibly bad at tracking anything. by the time they figured out who was offered at work and who denied it and for what reason, because there are valid reasons besides money, nothing would get done and everyone would keep getting the ridiculous ridiculous $600 a week
