Used to travel to the Rio Grande Valley for business too. Spent a few weekends on So. Padre Island. Never during Spring Break.

Thank you for the ping and for posting these updates.
Prayers for the people in that area.

I have to laugh about this one. Bastardi issued a pre-season forecast of areas most likely to see hurricane activity. In the post below he's crowing about how the hurricane impacts this season have all hit within the predicted area.
He's got the US coast from Maine to Mexico highlighted excepting Georgia and the panhandle part of Florida and 2/3 of the Caribbean also.
Frankie McDowell could have made that prediction.

Doesn't anyone carry wire cutters in their cars anymore? I love a good pair of fencing pliers. You can use them to replace so many tools.

Don’t need ‘em. If you want to there are many ways to get on the beach. Ask the teenagers, they know ‘em all.

biggest threat will be flooding ..10+ inches over wide area from Brownsville west up the Rio Grande to Lake Falcon by monday morning
then early next week lots of moisture still around for a couple more inches
Area has been dry this month but not in a drought with a very wet June
Also Heavy rains will fall over the Rio Grande watershed over NE Mexico above Falcon Lake filling up the flood control lakes for any more storms later

Good thing she didn’t have much time to grown. Could have been a bad one.
THANKS Nauti!
Looks like it might be a busy season for you.

Uh, and how does that help you in a hurricane except to lose your grip and impale you?

Betting across the board. I’ll take Non-Consequential fish storms in the middle of the Atlantic for $500, Alex.
