The definition of a riot is out of control chaos.
What they want is peaceful rioting.
I know lots of people in the lumber business that live in the greater Portland area. None of these people are liberals or radicals. So, there has to be some sane people who are pissed at their local politicians for letting this continue for over a month.
They finally cleaned out the rest of the occupy wackos in NYC down by city hall a couple days ago. These cities have to be losing millions/billions of dollars of revenue in tourist business and the sales tax/rooms and meals tax that comes with it.
Sooner or later the adults in the room cry uncle. The business leaders go to the Alderman, city council, mayor and tell them to clean this crap up OR I will support some other Politian in the next election instead of YOU.
Just turn on Fox News/Fox Business and observe the car traffic on 6th Avenue in NYC. It is a ghost town. Nobody is there on a Wednesday in mid town Manhattan. No one is planning on visiting any time soon. Nobody is going to Yankee Stadium, Madison Square Garden or the Statue of Liberty. There are hardly any cabs on the streets.
Yikes.

Blumenauer has 'represented' the Oregon 3rd Congressional District (CD) for 23+ years and wants to keep the streak going.
This 3rd CD covers the north and western parts of Portland and extends out to the east. Heavily Democrat in registration, 684k population 80% white, median income $64k. In short, this is a rich, white supremest district!
