Twitter bans 7,000 QAnon accounts, limits 150,000 others as part of broad crackdown
Twitter Statement Below
Weve been clear that we will take strong enforcement action on behavior that has the potential to lead to offline harm. In line with this approach, this week we are taking further action on so-called QAnon activity across the service. We will permanently suspend accounts Tweeting about these topics that we know are engaged in violations of our multi-account policy, coordinating abuse around individual victims, or are attempting to evade a previous suspension something weve seen more of in recent weeks.
In addition, we will:
No longer serve content and accounts associated with QAnon in Trends and recommendations
Work to ensure were not highlighting this activity in search and conversations
Block URLs associated with QAnon from being shared on Twitter
These actions will be rolled out comprehensively this week. We will continue to review this activity across our service and update our rules and enforcement approach again if necessary. As we work at scale to protect the public conversation in the face of evolving threats, well continue to lead with transparency.
NBC News reported the company has removed more than 7,000 accounts associated with the conspiracy theories. The changes will also impact some 150,000 more accounts because Twitter will stop recommending QAnon-affiliated accounts and will limit content circulation.
Ping!..............
I never liked QANON, but banning them from twitter is stupid. This actually makes me want to pay attention to them. What they want to hide makes me want to see why/what it is.
How does someone writing nonsense verses get banned? Maybe there is something to this.
I am sure they will find a welcoming home on Gab and Parler.
I don’t follow the Q anon thing, but if Twatter is banning those accounts, there is a reason. I have been seeing a lot of chatter, from very good sources, that the indictments are actually going to come down this week or next. Something in the air tells me it’s finally gonna happen.... If it doesn’t in the next two weeks, I’m afraid Barr is not what we had hoped.
Facebook and Instagram is next. Bet on it...............
Polly mentions Qanon. if you don’t have time to watch it all, watch from 30m in. Clinton Foundation staffer/Bain/McKinsey around 35m.

Maybe they are just using up too much bandwidth?
I’ve tried 4 times to register with Parler .never works. Anybody else have this problem? I got banned FOR LIFE on Twatter. I’ve got a snotty mouth, but ffs, that’s a bit extreme.
Sounds like we need 7000 + lawsuits seeking damages for violation of civil rights. Doesn’t take very many judgments to expose their lack of immunity. Once they cross the line and become editorial and control content, they no longer enjoy immunity as intended for entities that function as a platform.

Well they certainly aren't afraid of losing "platform" status and the protections that go with that, and instead being labelled a "publisher". At least not while our gutless, do-nothing GOPe Senate exists.
Yeah, nice try strac6...
Your stealth-fu is weak.
You know how you will be greeted.
what, exactly, is a QANON account?
Anyone that posts or tweets or retweets any Q-Anon links..................
Q is going to have to make a Freeper account.
Unless you have a BLM account and post threats against whites apparently....
Sunday NPR declared the Q Anon organization a terrorist group.
“I never liked QANON, but banning them from twitter is stupid. This actually makes me want to pay attention to them. “
Did QANON post hit on something real? I must wonder when they are going to ban Antifa and BLM from Twitter, not for that either. I believe in Free Speech. Let the fools be fools.
I am really wonder if QANON has some real dirt on some real group.
