President Donald Trump signed a memorandum on Tuesday that would prevent migrants who are in the United States illegally from being counted when U.S. congressional voting districts are next redrawn, triggering swift rebukes from Democrats and at least one promise of litigation.

Good!
Break into Mexico, try to vote in their elections, and see what happens.
Youd likely spend the rest of your short life in a Mexican prison.
Easy answer. Smarmy, ignorant, hateful, self-righteous, and narcissistic academics (including those who think going to a university somehow gives them special wisdom) who will do ANYTHING to get their way. They are the enemy of our Republic, and nothing short of total humiliation will stop them from being a nuisance. They are like self-convinced mosquitoes who feel totally justified in sucking the blood of anyone they don't agree with.
When you deal with people like this, you have to go immediately, strongly, and incessantly after their self-perceived stature. You have to laugh at them, decimate them in argument, and do exactly what Alinsky instructed his minions to do - use ridicule and derision to diminish them, laugh at them, and anger them. Angry enemies make mistakes, and show their true colors. This is war.
The current law enumerates non-citizens, with Supreme Court decisions to support that practice. I don't know if the law requires counting of illegal immigrants, infiltrating Nazi saboteurs, and touring Italian tenors, but in practice, they are counting everyone including Cartel drug mules if they can.
What authority do democrats have to say no?
President Trump hasn't been perfect, but he is the real deal. Post-mortums will blame him for doing this, or not doing that. But it is the country. It has some really fu--...screwed up people. If he loses, it is because the country is lost.
I’m waiting on that to happen any time!
Should we count all of the tourists in the hotels as well?
I do not know. Possibly ?
The Constitutions command to count every person as part of the Census is not ambiguous and not optional.
Trump is renewing his attacks on the Census and a fair count.
We will fight this. You can too by making sure you are counted. https://t.co/JR4KK8n0MA— Adam Schiff (@RepAdamSchiff) July 21, 2020
Prolly before you typed the ‘o’ in ‘How’.
In the 1860 census, my great-grandfather (9 years old) was listed twice--once with his parents and once with another family (I don't know why he was staying with the other people--don't know if they were relatives of some kind). Potentially that could have given Virginia an extra seat in the House of Representatives, but since Virginia was out of the Union from 1861 to 1870, it didn't make any practical difference.

Statement from the President Regarding Apportionment
IMMIGRATION
Issued on: July 21, 2020
If it works, it would stop millions of fraudulent votes..
At that time, immigrants to this country were required to sign a loyalty oath and were presumed to be candidates for citizenship. The exceptions were diplomats and mariners. The debate revolved around Indians and slaves. Neither were citizens but the way that they were counted was different. As a compromise, slaves were counted as 3/5th of a citizen. The South wanted them counted the same way as free inhabitants. The North didn't want them counted as all. The compromise gave the South more representatives than did the North's proposal. Before 1860, very few Indians were counted. After that census Indians living with the general population rather than on a reservation. Most reservation Indians were not counted until later. Double counting wasn't rare. Enumerators were assigned a certain households and they counted everyone living in a household. Since the enumerations did not happen on a single day, people in a family might well be counted twice if someone was counted in one household, and then were counted again if they traveled to another household that was counted later. Without computers, they had no way to reconcile all of the returns.

Trump orders voting districts to exclude people in U.S. illegally
Good news. The voting districts should not be drawn based on the number of people in your district illegally.

There’s also a presidential memorandum from today that goes into some detail. . .
Memorandum on Excluding Illegal Aliens From the Apportionment Base Following the 2020 Census
C'mon Mr. President, this is not any kind of a "democracy." It is a Republic led by duly elected representatives based on the righteous votes of documented Citizens either born here, or naturalized!!!
Nonresident citizens can vote in United States elections. They vote in their place of last residence in the United States of America, or if they never resided in the country but still acquired citizenship, they can vote at the previous place of residence of their ancestors in the United States. So if you, an citizen of the United States of America, move to Central African Republic, then you still can vote. If your children born abroad acquire citizenship through you under American law, then they too can vote, even if they never visit their country.
