If you think all the police (or military) are loyal to the Constitution, you haven’t been paying attention. Who is getting hurt? Who is getting arrested?
I will be voting, but I, in no way, believe this will be solved in November. Trump has proven himself an amazing president, and he has accomplished much; however, he is one man against a system that is corrupt to its core. Add in academia, big tech, media monopolies, multinational corporations, with a significant percentage of the population who believe the propaganda, and you may have an inkling of the scope. This is not a physical battle, but a spiritual war. All the lead in the world won’t save us from the father of lies—we’ve reached the tipping point when speaking the truth is not only revolutionary, but criminal.

This. I strongly recommend .22 LR for new shooters. The arguments about it being an inadequate defense caliber are valid, but not relevant to anyone trying to get used to handling firearms safely and effectively. And I’ve watched too many videos of violent assailants shrugging off multiple 9 mm hits from police and continuing to fight for 30-60 seconds.
If you are new and your attacker is the type to be dissuaded by gunfire, a .22 is more than adequate. If your attacker weighs 300 pounds and is insanely violent, on the other hand, even a .45 might not be enough - absent an accurate head or chest shot, which a new shooter is unlikely to have the skill to pull off.

I cannot imagine a scenario where the “Progressives” could demoralize their opposition. That would be the key to any semblance of them winning. Therefore all this is wasted energy. They’ve already lost.
Not sure what parts of Portland you have been in ... yes, a lot of white leftists there .... but typical of West Coast, Portland has a good size in Asian population, it is a far cry from very lily-white VT.
For the rest of the reasons you gave about VT ... variables other than being heavily armed in VT - keep riots away. But one cannot negate the racial make-up as a significant factor in VT. There are small Southern peaceful integrated towns, smaller than Burlington VT - it wasn’t the local town folk who came out to attempt or lead an effort to tear down statutes, riot, use the racial demographic of the residents to achieve their political goals. Just the do-gooder leftists from elsewhere, with connections in the larger cities elsewhere in the state, and Confederate statues weren’t they only thing they were after... ... but had to start it Charlie Manson style - using race. Can’t do that in VT.

Like all religions, except Christianity, if one counts it as one-though I do not. Religion is man trying to do good for God’s grace, while Christ’s grace counts all our effort as naught; but, at the price of our pride.
