Morgan Bullock is an African-American Irish dancer from Richmond, Virginia. After a TikTok video of her lightning-footed jigs went viral, she was accused of "cultural appropriation."
Then she got a call from Riverdance...

Think I’ll practice my break dancing by stealing a hub cap from a moving car.
Fantastic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Go, girl!!!!
She refuses to be “pigeonholed” like the BLM/ANTIFA people want to do....
Good for her.
There’s no such thing as cultural appropriation.
If youre bilingual, are you now guilty of cultappropia ??
Come back Patty Reilly to Ballyjamesduff ...
Thanks for posting - she does a heck of a job. I have a relative who went to school with Michael Flatley, and it’s neat to see how much of an effect the Riverdance phenomenon has had.
This whole canard on “cultural appropriation” reminds me of a scene in the documentary “Standing in the Shadows of Motown” (about the whole Barry Gordy - Motown Records phenomenon in the ‘60’s and ‘70’s). Anyway, they were interviewing one of the arrangers at the Motown studio, a black guy who had a classical background largely due to the sponsorship by the auto companies of outings for Detroit public school kids to professional orchestral performances. And he put his talents to play in using lush orchestral backing, full of strings and horns, in some of the most iconic Motown records. Those songs were a big part of the lives of many of us growing up at that time, and they would have been all the poorer for the absence of those approaches.
Nobody took the use of the techniques of dead white Europeans as “cultural appropriation”, and nobody should have - that was just more of what made America great - combining the best of all that’s in our cultural heritage.
Oh that’s so funny!!!
Lots of non latino people do the tango....etc. And in a way so much of our dancing now is African.
Good for her...I hope to see her again.
George Washington was a great dancer and I suspect some of the gigues of his scots-Irish influenced youth were not far removed from this.
Michael Flatley was born in Detroit, Michigan. After about a 1:15 min. intro. in the following 4 min. video, Mr. Bullock solo tap-dancing to drums, he leads the Irish Riverdancers onto the stage, about 30 synchronized Irish dancers doing what you saw Morgan doing, except more aggressively.
Riverdance finale by Michael Flatley & Jean Butler (Sept. 28, 2007)
God love her. She is really good. She deserves to be in Riverdance.
Great job young lady.
She’s black Irish.
Great story.
Cultural appropriation is hogwash.
“People say I shouldn’t be Irish Dancing because I’m black...”
And people are idiots.
Lovely young lady that’s good at what she enjoys doing. Good for her.
