Mexicos top security official is trying to downplay a cartel-produced video purportedly showing an armored paramilitary unit. The unit includes a large contingent of cartel gunmen wearing high-end tactical gear and posing by what appears to be dozens of factory-made armored trucks and SUVs. The release of the video comes just one day after Mexicos President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador visited the region.
The incident took place Friday afternoon as suspected members of Mexicos Cartel Jalisco Nueva Generacion leaked a two-minute-long video. The video shows what appears to be hundreds of gunmen in military-style uniforms next to a long line of armored SUVs. The video also reveals a large contingent of gunmen who are perhaps better armed and equipped than Mexicos own security forces.

But...but...Mexico has insanely tough gun control...
THIS is what happens when you allow groups to get away with seizing control of territory. This is what the democrats are allowing to happen in this country.
You can be assured that they have unit members in all major Southwestern US cities. You can also be assured that they own a significant fraction of “American” politicians in those same cities.
Hopefully the sound of ‘BRRRRRT...’ is in their future.
That is one large, well-equipped unit. If that video was faked, somebody sure went to a lot of trouble.
Oh, and let me add one thing. Its coming to a city near you should Biden win in November. And it might be coming, regardless.
Got to wonder what the “obama-holder” cut of sales are.
Lot of green pickups.
Stand up in the hatch and see how long you last.
And the pinche pendejo racist who commented at the end of the article blames it all on white people from the USA.
Saddam has lots of bang bang too but look what it got him.
I will guarantee you the cartel videos of groups of tied up men and women having the throats cut and decapitated will be coming to a nicely mown lawn neighborhood near you. Your brother-in-law's kid might just be the guy sawing your wife's head off. If you think I am exaggerating, wait a year or two, even if we win in Nov.
Theyd be better riding in the backs of garbage trucks.
I am more concerned with what is NOT shown in the video: the cartel anti-armor assaultman squads (MOS 0251 in the Marine Corps).
About ten minute’s work for a couple of Warthogs ... not counting flying time to and from the targets.
Ping.
“what is NOT shown in the video: the cartel anti-armor”
The cartels are going up against each other with these improvised light armored vehicles.
Anti-armor is necessarily becoming a priority.
“Convoys of cartel gunmen in armored vehicles clash regularly in and around the border cities of Miguel Aleman and Camargo, immediately south of Starr County, Texas. The shootouts are spreading fear locally as rivals fight for a section of the border without any fencing.
For several weeks, the Cartel Del Noreste faction of Los Zetas has made a systemic push east into the area known as La Riberena, gaining more ground with each day. The organization spent months to wrest the territory from the Metros faction of the Gulf Cartel. Most of the fighting occurs around remote ranchlands away from the city, however, the bloodshed recently intensified as CDN launched almost daily incursions into populated areas.
La Riberena features approximately 46 miles of borderlands without any fencing and shallow sections of the Rio Grande. It is known as the crown jewel of the Gulf Cartel because of historically lacking of border security measures.”
The Trump Administration in recent days has announced waivers to speed construction of some Border Wall System in this very area - from Falcon Lake, down to the recently constructed segment near Fronton (where Border Patrol came under machine gun fire several months ago) - right across the river from Ciudad Miguel Aleman.
We spend billions droning weddings in Yemen.
We should move those assets to Mexico, and just blow up the labs and homes of the cartel leaders.
Someone must be making a ton of money to make sure that doesnt happen.
I would love to see that video. I hope it’s made soon.
“...But...but...Mexico has insanely tough gun control...”
Well, it all gets down to whether the guy you are confronting has a gun or not...and most do. That is Mexican gun control. The guy with the gun does the controlling...
