How about 'SAILOR'?.......................
To: Red Badger
Use the Latin “Nauta” (sailor). It is masculine, but looks feminine.

Good move. Sailor does sound much better than seaman regardless of any gender sensitivity. Our 10 yr old brains ruined seaman a long time ago.

The Royal Canadian Navy is planning to replace the term “seaman” for its junior sailors on both ships.

How about 'SAILOR'?....................... Would they have the slightest idea of how to work a sail? Especially those on a submarine.

Master seaman. Are they struggling with the term “master,” too? If so, that’s a double whammy.

Anyone with the slightest amount of a real education would know that the suffix “-man” is non-gender specific and just means “person.”

....”The term “seaman” has been used by Navies across the world for many many years and the Canadian Navy uses terms like “master seaman,” “leading seaman,” “able seaman” and “ordinary seaman.”.....
Oh, for Pete’s sake.... doesn’t this third-world country have anything more important to worry about than what names to give their sailors...? Next thing ya know, this foolishness will spill over to OUR armed forces...goodbye “Airman” in the U.S. Air Force; goodbye to Seaman, Airman, Constructionman, Fireman, etc. in the US. Navy....”Rifleperson” in the U.S. Marine Corps....??
