For years, conservatives have been called conspiracy nutters for suggesting that Twitter was actively censoring its users — but now we know the truth.
During yesterday’s high-profile disaster, in which hackers gained access to many of the top accounts on the site, screenshots of the platform’s administration panel were released showing administrators have the ability to blacklist accounts from being searched for or being allowed to trend on the app.
Of course, Twitter is now suspending anyone for sharing the screenshot above – not because it’s fake – but because they’re desperate to save whatever shred of credibility still remains.
Shares of Twitter were down 2% during morning trading on Thursday as CEO Jack Dorsey is busy consulting kabbalah beads for inspiration on how to deal with the meltdown.

They are a publisher. Period.
Parler has a ways to go in terms of the software, but I believe it will continue to grow as an alternative even as more and more left-wing trolls are signing up.
The future of media in America is likely going to be partisan as more right-friendly media emerge.
“Protected” must be that status that lefties and other Dems get where any reply from a conservative-tagged account gets de-boosted. I can post replies to any unverified account - or any conservative - no problem no de-boost, but post to any Democrat office holder or media figure and the de-boost is every time.
The problem with that is we still need to be able to reach out beyond our own bubble and try to win converts to our side.

Competing platforms are in a bit of a Catch-22: the whole reason Twitter became popular is that you could interact with the other side. In the end, the Right will only go where there is free speech, and the Left will only go where there is censorship. Therefore, no interaction, only echo chambers. Twitter will remain as a neoliberal echo chamber, and some other platform(s) will serve the same purpose for conservatism.
Which is fine as long as it’s User’s Choice to do so.................
