Former U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions lost the Republican nomination for his old Senate seat in Alabama to former college football coach Tommy Tuberville, likely ending a long political career with a bitter defeat egged on by President Donald Trump.
Tuberville, 65, beat Sessions in Tuesdays Republican runoff as Sessions fell short in his attempted comeback for a seat he held for two decades before resigning to become Trumps attorney general in 2017.
Familiar to Alabamians from his decade as Auburn Universitys head football coach, Tuberville is now positioned for a strong challenge against Democratic U.S. Sen. Doug Jones. With Alabamas strong GOP tilt, the seat is widely viewed as Republicans best chance for a pickup as they try to maintain their thin Senate majority amid Trumps lagging popularity nationally.

Sounds like Ann is describing Sessions...not President Trump.
Talk about disloyal, narcissistic and blame-shifting.
—————————————————Now that the polls are closed, I’ll admit, this was always going to be a tough race for Sessions, thanks to the disloyal, narcissistic, blame-shifting ignoramus in the White House. pic.twitter.com/C1IWLk06n3 Ann Coulter (@AnnCoulter) July 15, 2020-—
I remember the FR primary wars of 2015-2016...
I absolutely despise Ann Coulter. She is the lowest of the low.
Well done, Alabama!
Jeff Sessions is an inbred, traitorous, semi-literate dwarf.
And now, a disgraced loser.
Go to hell, Jeff.
Excellent news. I inherently loathe anyone that makes a career as being a politician. Those types of people are takers not makers. They wrap themselves in the hypocritical rhetoric of severing the public while serving themselves. Sessions will forever be known as such a man. What a weak, pathetic, spineless selfish piece of schiff.
the people have spoken
Woo! Hoo!
Okay, read the comments and not one word about WHAT KIND of senator Tuberville would make. Any info? RINO? Establishment swamp creature? Real conservative? Come on, be practical.
“This was not so much a vote for Tuberville as a vote against cowardly turncoat Sessions”.
Of ALL the comments on this thread, this is the most accurate assessment of them all. Tuberville has issues. Particularly who he chose to run his campaign that no one on this thread is discussing.
He chose an Open Borders Amnesty Proponent to run his campaign. But, Session’s disgusting betrayal of President Trump far outweighed that fact and the vote was against Sessions Betrayal more than it was for Tuberville.
Tommy Tuberville may be a RINO, a "moderate Republican", a Trumper, an anti-Trumper....it ain't gonna make any difference !
He was a football player, an award-winning coach, he led Auburn to a Sugar Bowl victory....and has a perfect ballot name, LOL. The folks in Alabamy LOVE this guy's resume
No way is he going to lose in November!

Grrrrrrrrreat!
I'm sure the players are being told right now what to say. It will be the Soros Money talking.
Sessions was a warrior on border issues and the first senator to support Trump. He should have resigned instead of recusing himself. Trump better get Tuber to be as strong on supporting the President’s agenda as Sessions would have been. Had Barr been AG three years earlier, it might saved the nation a great deal of grief.
Alabama GOP voters spoke clearly and overwhelmingly tonight.
What part of that do you not understand?
Think Richard Shelby. He will be generally reliable on the easy issues but will betray us big time some day on a major issue, likely a close immigration vote.

This blow out is not just about Sessions. The primary was close. Sessions conduct as AG and Trump’s endorsement of Tuberville were well known then. Something changed between the primary and the run off. GOP base outrage at Durham/Graham and GOP cowardice in the face of antifa riots fueled the anti-establishment vote for Tuberville, IMO.
He was a good Senator and seems like a nice guy. However, “I can never forgive him for what he did to Donald Trump (and us) as AG.
I think more than any single person you can lay the blame for the coup attempt on Sessions. He was the one man who could have caught this and demanded proof, but he allowed himself to be taken out easily essentially handicapping the President. His naivity about how corrupt DOJ and the swamp really were cost Donald Trump the full power of the Presidency in many ways.”
Well said!
Can somebody please explain Anns rational between loving Christie & Romney and hating POTUS DJT?

I think her panties have been twisted ever since she figured out that our President was NOT going to bring her on board to advise him how to do his job. “Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.”

If Trump loses there are not going to be any close immigration votes. If he wins Tuberville won’t risk alienating GOP voters who just voted against long time incumbent Sessions.
Bitch. Went off her years ago.
