Former U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions lost the Republican nomination for his old Senate seat in Alabama to former college football coach Tommy Tuberville, likely ending a long political career with a bitter defeat egged on by President Donald Trump.
Tuberville, 65, beat Sessions in Tuesdays Republican runoff as Sessions fell short in his attempted comeback for a seat he held for two decades before resigning to become Trumps attorney general in 2017.
Familiar to Alabamians from his decade as Auburn Universitys head football coach, Tuberville is now positioned for a strong challenge against Democratic U.S. Sen. Doug Jones. With Alabamas strong GOP tilt, the seat is widely viewed as Republicans best chance for a pickup as they try to maintain their thin Senate majority amid Trumps lagging popularity nationally.

The Keebler Elf can go back to baking cookies again!!!!
You think Tuberville’s hedge fund issues won’t hurt him?
Relax, it’s all over now. The traitorous Keebler Elf was crushed.
On to defeating Doug Jones!
“I wonder if he can defeat Jones. People in AL can be subject to late election campaign surprises.”
In polls released before the runoff, showed the coach beating jones by better numbers than the Keebler Elf.
No...It is obvious from your posts...You seem to be the type that DOES prefer “professional politicians” no matter what you’re saying in this post...
Just keep on “coming from” where ever you want to come from...I could not care less...
“Thats assuming he wins. He was the opponent Jones wanted.”
That chump is full of himself, every poll conducted showed both Tuberville and the elf beating him by double digits.
“Annie can go cuddle with her Mitt The Zitt doll if shes feeling down.”
Or she can give her boo bill maher a reach around.
Have to admit that at least he’s gracious in defeat.
This. The man was a failure as AG, but he never pulled a "Bolton." In his concession speech he put his support behind Tuberville and still says Trump is right for the nation.
Not at all sure how Tuberville will be, and I suspect a majority of the vote last last night was simply anti-Sessions which leads me to question his decision. A first time novice politician would have shown up better. He has absolutely no self-awareness. AT any rate, let’s pick up the seat in November!
Only if he warrants the attack.
Hey Ann, shut your piehole.
“...Seems to me that any eligible citizen who can read and understand the CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES and abide by its rules would be 10 thousand times better than ANY OF THE GODDAMN LAWYERS that currently hold positions in any branch of government!....”
Fully agree with that!
It, for sure, applies to liberal females, especially black ones, that Soros has managed to spread across the country as DAs etc.
Sessions recused himself from anything Clinton during his confirmation, too.
What a scumbag.
Well, of course you are right and you could use the material in office today to show a high number of mistakes on the part of the electorate. We don’t really know how TT will be until he has some experience too.
But running a team in the SEC (and football is a damnsite harder than other teams) is a good indication that he has some material to work with. The questions are, will he do it and not relax into one or the most worthless forms of humanity (politician) and will he and Trump win and will his professed loyalty also hold.
Wish they both could have lost.
A real globullist scumbag RINO from McConnell’s team.
just add him to the list that needs to be primaried.
