Saying that Twitter has become its ultimate editor, New York Times columnist and editor Bari Weiss resigned yesterday with a scathing letter to the paper.
Weiss, one of the few centrist voices at The Times, said she faced bullying at the paper for her views, and that the free exchange of ideas on the opinion pages was now dead. The search for truth has been replaced by orthodoxy already known to an enlightened few whose job is to inform everyone else.
In the letter addressed to publisher A.G. Sulzberger, Weiss bemoans how the Times has strayed from the ideals laid out by Adolph Ochs in 1896, that the paper should publish all shades of opinion.

And we should care about this because...?

You clearly cared enough to click on the thread.
I thought I was going to be in before the snark, but I guess not. Click on the link and read the letter. Its excellent. She had actually fought for different (non-leftist) viewpoints to be presented, but shes given up and all of the other editors are too terrified to even lift their heads above their cubicles. Well, metaphorically speaking, because theyre all working from home now, Im sure. .
In any case, dont scoff. She was a principled liberal, and shes being driven out. Its seriously worth reading.

Mark Levin talks about the Slimes founding last night. The founders of this rag would make Bull Connor look like Dr. MLK.
Bolsheviks vs. Menshaviks
You need to read her resignation letter. It’s savage. And this has sparked a mini-fire storm among the left.
I have. This is the third or fourth post concerning this letter. So what? So people were mean to her? People disagreed with her and told her that? She dumps her sob story into a letter and quits. Is she off to find a safe space somewhere where nobody will disagree with her? Good luck with that.
Yup. So why should we care?
The Slimes clearly strayed from the straight and narrow LONG before this chicklet signed on.
Why, being a seasoned “journalist”, didn’t she know what she was jumping into?
The good news is that it looks like shes gearing up to file a workplace discrimination lawsuit.
I have read it. Like I said it's been in multiple posts already. My question is why should we give her whining any more credibility than anything else coming out of the New York Times?
i liked B. Weiss great article on NYTimes in May 2020 ‘Deblasio found the scapegoat.’
I once knew a person who hated Casablanca because, “It’s just about two people having an affair”. Some people are incapable of seeing the forest for the tree. So what I’m basically saying is that you’re hopelessly stupid.
Yes, it was a good read, well-written, and she hit on some very important points. On the other hand though, I simply dont know enough about her to know if she is a hypocrite, who is simply upset that the political winds have turned against her particular brand of biased politics at the highly biased and political NY Times. I have heard she was fully on board with #metoo in their attempt to destroy Brett Kavanaugh, for example.
In sum, its a good letter, but I have little sympathy for her.
That was longer - and a whole lot better - than I expected.
Of course it will make little impact on the targets of her piece.
