Dr. Scott Atlas said it feel(s) like Im living in a Kafka novel when watching politicians hysteria against school reopening, in an TV interview Monday with Martha MacCallum. According to the renowned doctor, school closings severely damage childrens development and generate next to no gains for public health.
Im not sure how many times it has to be said, but the risk to children for this disease, for fatalities, is nearly zero. I mean, this is totally antithetical to the data, he said. Atlas is a senior fellow at the Hoover Institution, a health-care expert, and former professor and chief of neuroradiology at the Stanford University Medical Center.
The statements come as a rebuke to recent claims from Democrat House Speaker Nancy Pelosi about restarting the countrys education system.
...
science from all over the world The risk to children for significant illness is far less than from seasonal flu, according to JAMA Pediatrics.
Recent research using contact tracing has confirmed that children rarely transmit to each other or to adults, making classroom settings a safer environment than similarly sized groups of adults. Those advocating for keeping schools closed or only partially reopening are people who either dont know the data or are refractory to learning themselves because the facts say otherwise, Atlas said.

How about we start homeschooling kids more. Just to get our kids educated while the big babies cry and throw their tantrums.
And just let the hospitals and nursing homes contend with the consequences...
Honor Mother and Father vs The Children are the future
My wife is a reading specialist who has been teaching little kids to read for thirty years. She says that distance learning is BS and the kids are suffering horribly due to the shutdowns. Of course, the corrupt media now has teachers in such a frenzy that many are afraid to go back to work.
Anti-SARS-CoV-2 IgG from severely ill COVID-19 patients promotes macrophage hyper-inflammatory responses

Why do #COVID19 patients often become critically ill around 1.5 weeks? Our latest work (now on @biorxivpreprint) may provide an explanation (and therapy) for this: aberrant IgG antibodies. A thread on why we think this could be (very) important: https://biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/2020.07.13.190140v1

The State cant indoctrinate home schooled kids nearly as easily.

I wrote my school board last night and begged them to open the schools. They likely won’t (will decide today) and will likely offer only 100% “distance learning” which I’ve already been to last Spring and means posting one assignment a week, no tests and not grades and no teaching. FOR HIGH SCHOOL.
I feel like those nations in Africa that struggle to get their girls education. I can’t believe the United States has fallen this far.
I will write Betsy Devos today and President Trump and beg for an Executive Order that requires/encourages the reopening of schools as he did for the meat packing plants. Surely the education of children in the US are as important as eating pork chops.
Europe and Asia reopened schools successfully—why wouldn’t the US? Do we value our children so little?
I’ve already moved my teen girl to a private small Christian school nearby, but I care about other children more than my own.
Think of it—now millions of LA children will be roaming the streets this next year or playing video games. I read 40% don’t have wifi to even do “distance learning” and teachers put some videos on PBS last Spring.
It’s awful.
Ah, liberals, where the double standard is their standard.
Black lives matter.
- Until they don’t.
It’s for the children.
- Until it isn’t.
Conservatives will take whatever liberals dish out.
- Until we don’t. Very strongly don’t.
“How about we start homeschooling kids more. Just to get our kids educated while the big babies cry and throw their tantrums.”
I know several families in my area that are doing just that. While the school board dithers on how they will open and how they will treat the kids (Masks on grade-schoolers? real?) Parents are making choices for their kids mental health and education.
I think homeschooling will be huge this year. I hope it continues into the future.
Stop the nonsense. Make the tax money for school follow the child...where ever they go. If they go nowhere, the money is refunded to the taxpayer. Distance learning is caca doo doo, and everyone knows it.

And the people at the end of their lives will never get this last year back even if it is their last year. And a year to a two year old is half of their life, never to be repeated. The long term loss of formative experiences is horrendous.
20 years from now the cost will come due on a number of fronts.

> Anyone Who Prioritizes Children Would Reopen The Schools
Anyone who prioritizes children would never open a public school again
The reason it feels so unreal is that it is unreal. The whole pandemic reaction is intended to remove Donald Trump from the Presidency. Teachers’ unions, leftists, don’t want schools to reopen. News organizations, leftists, don’t want businesses open. Public employee unions, leftists, still keep getting paid, don’t want economic growth. A perfect storm.
News last night said these masks, distancing my? HOW CAN YOU JUSTIFY OPENING SCHOOL THEN, REMEMBER JANITORS ARE GOV UNION NON WORKERS!
They don’t want any teachers or students to be at risk of death, so close off education to everyone but the homeschooling, which they will eventually make illegal too to ensure that no one is going to school.
NO OPEN SCHOOLS, NO PAY CHECK.
I have only a HS education but I learned to read in the late 50’s. I taught my boys to read. The old way with Dick and Jane style books. Taught them colors, ABC’S, HUBBY taught them basic math for their ages, he is a ret, Math Prof.
Which is why I am worried for them when it comes to cracking down on homeschooling eventually, to make sure that no one has an advantage in education. Meanwhile out of school will likely mean more crime and more idleness.
BINGO!
