HUMMELS WHARF Authorities say the suspect of Fridays deadly shooting at Buffalo Wild Wings stalked and was planning to kill a Trevorton woman who died from injuries that night. A Sunbury man has also been identified as the one who shot the suspect, putting him in serious condition.
Court documents say 55-year-old Christopher Fernanders of Paxinos wrote a letter detailing his plan to kill 46-year-old Heather Campbell before the fatal shooting in the restaurant parking lot. The letter was found in Fernanders vehicle after a search warrant was executed. Included in Fernanders plotted killing was also an Amcrest GPS tracker that was found underneath Campbells vehicle parked at the restaurant. He now faces murder charges for the killing of Campbell and 52-year-old Matthew Bowersox of Mifflinburg.
Court documents say prior to the shooting, Campbell had obtained a protection from abuse order July 1, which was days before Fernanders then allegedly threatened to kill her. Fernanders was also due in district court this week after being charged from that incident.

I’m confused, who fired shots at the shooter?
Anybody else find the writing of this article below passing in 5th grade English? Whatever happened to the classic mantra for news articles; Who, What, When, Where, How and Why?
News outlets fired most of the editors a while ago. That had an impact.
And I think we are now on to a secondary problem — “journalists” do not have to write well or clearly. That’s not important in the hiring process. The hiring manager is just looking for people who are on board with the Narrative and who will tell the story in the way that they are instructed to tell it. If you are willing to play that game, then you can be a “journalist”, even if you don’t right good.
I see what you did there .. !
Goodly dune !
Journalist without an editor, is a carriage without a horse.
Well played sir...well played.
I see we think the writing stinks! Lets see if I can do better?
Christopher Fernanders (55) of Paxinos shot and killed Heather Campbell (46) and her date, Matthew Bowersox (52) of Mifflinburg, in a planned attack at Buffalo Wild Wings Friday evening. Following that shooting, as Fernanders was returning to his car, one Troy Sprenkle (46) of Sunbury, exited the restaurant and shot Fernanders 3 or 4 time, seriously wounding him. (paragraph)
The rest would detail the court order, the letter, the tracking and the rest of the story.
Writing skills are so poor today in the US that if you can barely write a proper sentence you are an outstanding writer by comparison. Teachers are instructed to pass every student on effort.the problem goes back so many years.
There has been discussion of “functional illiterates” for quite a long time. I think we have a new category, one which I have not seen discussed at all. I’m referring to people who are literate and who can write but who cannot write clearly or correctly and who cannot think in any sort of focused, cogent way. These people can put words on the page, but the end result is always massive confusion. It’s worse than being functionally illiterate, in my opinion.
Pennsylvania Ping!
Please ping me with articles of interest.
FReepmail me to be added to the list.
Given the state of 'spell check', I think that "dont rite good" would pass as well.
HOWEVER, you are missing the current qualifications as espoused by the new head of NBCUniversal News Group, Cesar Conde, that of RACE! This July announcement by the Comcast subsidiary, states that NBCUniversal News Group will practice systemic racism in its Human Resource operations until the staffing has shifted from the current 26% BIPOC to a 50-50 ratio against non-minorities.
The way I heard it (from someone who actually knows), the threat to kill Campbell came before she obtained the PFA. About 10 days from threat to PFA and another 10 to be murdered.
PFA’s are on paper, not kevlar.
They don’t protect against people crazy enough to stalk and then murder in broad daylight in a locale where so many are armed.
The killer is probably very surprised he’s alive.
Wouldnt you know, Buffalo Wild Wings sign on the door stating that it BANS GUNS ON THESE PREMISES actually worked. He knew he couldnt bring his gun inside, so he shot them in the parking lot.
So a good samaritan armed came to the rescue but a little too late. Thank you for the clarification.
One of the local papers spelled the town’s name wrong in the headline, making it Warf rather than Wharf.
I see errors all the time, but they usually catch them in the headlines. :(
Hummels Wharf lies between two respectable universities, Bucknell and Susquehanna, but if you look closely you’ll find that the public schools in this region turn out a poor product, with students’ proficiency scores around 50 percent in reading and well below that in math.
Don’t be silly. You’re thinking of what was once known as journalism, but has sadly gone the way of the dinosaurs. The childish swill penned these days is nothing even remotely close to true journalism.
A crime of jealousy and passion.
He was probably tapping her on the side and got jealous when he saw her about to take home a stranger from the bar.
Buffalo Wild Wings bans concealed carry from their restaurants. How could a shooting have happened on their property?
Those things are SOOOOOOOOOO 1950’s in a J-School program. Today it’s all about white privilege and social justice.
My kid doesn’t even work on penmanship in elementary school. They spend a lot of time practicing for standardized tests instead of learning the basics.
