Cops say suspect had knife, crowbar and slingshots, report says
A protester in Portland was arrested Monday after police say he used a “wrist rocket” to launch a metal ball that struck a city medic in the chest who was working with police at the scene, reports said.

Jesse Bates, 37, was arrested and charged with third-degree assault among other charges, KATU.com reported. Police said Bates was nabbed in possession of a crowbar, knife, gas mask, pyrotechnics and slingshots, according to the report.
The Portland Fire & Rescue employee suffered bruising, the report said. The alleged incident occurred at about 2 p.m. OregonLive.com reported that police were forced to chase the man and eventually employed less-than-lethal force to stop him.
Last week Portland’s Deputy Police Chief, Chris Davis, said an “agitator corps” of violent protesters are responsible for vandalism and chaos in the city.
Mayor Ted Wheeler, a Democrat, appealed for calm the night before.

Putting an eye out is minor compared to the damage it could have done.

Charge the bastard with more serious charges of Aggravated assault while armed, Assault with intent to Main (wrists rocket) and Assault with intent to Kill (wrist rocket). That should put his ass in jail for decades but then, again, it is Portland.
There might also be charges for attacking city employees while on the job. Might even be a state charge for attacking first responders.

Seriously though, it seems so many of these "youthful protestors" that get arrested are well into their 30s and older. Talk about arrested development.

As I mentioned before, the police should use paint guns with indelible ink and announce a $50 reward the next day to anyone who finds them and they are arrested. You would have kids all over town looking for them to collect the money.
