Arlo Kinsey was working behind the carryout counter at RJs Bob-Be-Que Shack in Mission last week when a middle-aged man dressed in a red Make America Great Again hat and no mask walked through the door.
I asked him if he could wear a mask, since its what Gov. Kelly told us to do, said Kinsey, 18, who was working shifts at the barbecue joint this summer before heading off to college. He had dealt with a handful of customers who refused to wear masks inside the restaurant despite the statewide mandate but none like this, he said.
The man said he had an exemption to the mask order: He then lifted up his shirt, revealing a gun in a holster on his hip.
It was definitely a threat, Kinsey said. I was looking at the gun thinking he was going to shoot me.
My first thought was, I work in customer service and this is really whats going to happen? All were asking is that you wear a mask for a couple of minutes. We could have taken your order outside if you didnt want to. But you go into an air conditioned area without a mask on, and if I tell you to wear one, youre going to shoot me? Wow. I make $8.50 an hour, plus tips for this?
Kinsey called for his boss, Bob Palmgren, owner of the 17-year-old restaurant in suburban Kansas City, off Lamar Avenue and Johnson Drive in Mission. Palmgren was in the back, working in the kitchen.

One dumb ass like this can cause negative ripples across
a wide body of the public.
Please dont wear a MAGA and go all postal on folks. Good
grief. Do we need to tell folks that? Really?
Well, maybe he was actually a leftist plant. We know the leftists are mental cases. Ha.
And the anger builds and builds. Soon a massive explosion.
Not just masks but the overall state of the America we knew and loved.
Oh, that’s okay then. /sarc
Maybe, but there are plenty of A-holes in the world on both ends of the political spectrum and my feeling is whoever this guy is, whatever his political view is, he's someone I don't believe should be walking around with a gun. He sounds like someone a teensy-weensy aggravation away from a catastrophe.
“Next, can I wear a mask and carry my firearm?”
“In some states, you cannot conceal carry a firearm if you wear a mask, but Kansas is not one of them. So, any mask wearing requirements will not affect concealed carry.”
I suspect this is more for farmers and ranchers wearing masks and riding tractors, but good to know.
Some point they will probably identify this person and we will know if we are dealing with a False Flag (anti Trump/Anti Gun) or just a not-so-smart person.
All in all, the story gets a bit murky from report to report but Im guessing some enterprising reporter or rather person who loves the idea of doxing victims so they can cause lots of online attacks but in this case, it would be BLM thugs showing up at the guys home to threaten him and/or his family, would try to research all the customers of the business until they came up with someone they could blame!
Im still suspicious of the 18 yr old employee and his story. Right age to believe it just fine to rat out others for standing up against mandates!
For the same reason I wouldn’t say that a BLM rioter that shot a store owner was protecting his freedom of speech.
The masks are bullcrap. It has nothing to do with the disease and everything to do with accustoming us to submitting to bullcrap.
The weak and the stupid are a plague among us.
War has been declared on you and all your kith and kin whether you wish to acknowledge it and behave accordingly or not.
and the moral handwringers and the “concerned conservatives” with the “oh no! he’s making us look bad” are now and have never been anything other than a force multiplier for the enemy.
Suck it up and fight.
Or sit down and submit.
It is a binary solution set.
Yes they are.
Well said. :)
