Is this the Ninth Circus?

I'll bet it's a three-judge panel.

The #FakeNews Media always pretends that it's the WHOLE circuit court - when it's only three judges pulled out of a hat...

Thought the supreme Court already ruled... Not that matters when it goes for this administration. Not sure why they don’t just withhold and sight the favorable decision

I have never been able to figure out why the DOJ does not charge the officials of those city’s with harboring and giving aid to illegal aliens. The penalties under the law are very high.

A precedent has already been set with the enforcement of the Federal 55 mph speed limit set back in the 70's.

Federal highway funds back then would be with held if the 55 speed limit was not set.

"I can't drive, 55!"

Appeal from the United States District Court for the Northern District of California William Horsley Orrick [ClownBammy Resistance "judge"], District Judge

Before: William A. Fletcher, Richard R. Clifton, and Eric D. Miller, Circuit Judges.

William A. Fletcher [Rapin Bill "judge"], Richard R. Clifton [senior Dubya judge], and Eric D. Miller [Trump judge].

Opinion by Richard Clifton in CITY & COUNTY OF SAN FRANCISCO V. BARR 18-17308

https://cdn.ca9.uscourts.gov/datastore/opinions/2020/07/13/18-17308.pdf

The panel affirmed in part, and vacated in part, the district court’s summary judgment entering declaratory relief for plaintiffs and permanently enjoining the U.S. Department of Justice (“DOJ”) on a nationwide basis from imposing certain conditions for providing funding for state and local criminal justice programs through Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grants.

As Trump continues to replace federal judges, it is well to remember that problems like this are the result of 50 years of spineless Republicans rubber stamping ultra left judges put out by Democrat presidents. By going along to get along, Republicans have screwed us for at least two generations.

The average voter with the attention span of a gnat has no understanding of how critical it is that we have four more years of Trump appointments to the benches.

So why can’t the President just end the program all together. Let cities pay for their own stuff.

We should play their game and demand a full review by the
Ninth. And then move it to the SCOTUS, so Roberts and a few
other “Conservatives” can sell us out again.

The Federal Government has every right to expect the states
to obey federal law. If they don’t want to, let them do
without federal dollars.

Imagine acting like a real a. h. to your folks, and then
asking for the car keys to take a girl out on a date.

Why doesn’t California secede already?

"Federal appeals court rules Trump admin can't withhold federal grants from California sanctuary cities."

Okay, then Pres. Trump should ignore that ruling and do as he likes, just like Obambi. Let the court send US Marshals to arrest Trump. The dem/soc/coms will finally get the war they are itching for. I'm tired of this shit. I'll take point for those behind me. Just let me know where to meet in my area.

The Scotus ruled that ONLY FedGov can enforce immigration law in US vs Arizona SB 1070.
Sanctuary cities flout that ruling.
Therefore government can respond with fiscal or other reductions to entice compliance on the law...

Fine. Hire a sloth to write the checks. It’ll take 10 years to teach it how so the actual execution of the process will seem quite speedy.

The U.S. Court of Appeals in San Francisco said its ruling that the Justice Department cannot block police funds from cities not enforcing immigration laws does not extend nationally, Bloomberg News reported.

The hell they can’t! SF voted to get rid of the cops. No cops! No funds! Simple as that!

This reminds me of the 55mph limit and federal transportation funding discussion from the 1980’s. Iforget how that one came out. Not exactly the same as not a fed law for speed limits.

This is what I don’t like about Trump. He could have just kept quiet and awarded the grants to other cities. Let them wonder for a year why they are not getting it. Insist you are looking into it but just delay it.
