My next-door neighbor of many years died of broken heart syndrome.
His wife of more than five decades passed away after a battle with cancer. He was never the same after that. I recall a couple of conversations across our porches where he just seemed lost and forlorn and no longer gave a damn.
He followed her to the grave after about six months.
After he died his daughter told me “Yeah, after Mom died he just kid of gave up. No wife, no life he would tell us.”

That’s so sad.
We should all reach out to anyone we know who is in this situation.
And,of course,in order to drive Trump out of office.
This is all straight out of Rules For Radicals...and the works of one Bill Ayers.
