Many liberal states REQUIRE these diversity positions in corporations. Then they also require enviromental compliance and labor compliance. Also $15/hr minimum wage to crush the small businesses.
HR has been a hot mess for 25 years.
I’ve always been told that HR is not there to help or protect the employee, it’s there to protect the organization.
You should see the yearly training crap we have had to go through over the years! My Lord, I shudder to think what’s ahead of us now.
“Is” or “has been for a while”. The Left has figured out how to use the market to spread it’s poison as effectively as it used government. It’s not limited to just entertainment, and it’s not just HR departments. Just emphasizing the public/private divide will not even slow them down.

My father in law was a B-24 and B-17 pilot in WWII, and he served as a command pilot, operations officer, training officer, and safety officer at bomb group and wing level. After the war, he used his GI Bill to get a degree in Electrical Engineering and went to work for the Power Company. He ended up as the Vice President for Personnel based on his expertise in training and safety.
When he retired 45 years ago, his replacement was a Human Resources expert, not an engineer. Every other company followed the same trend and it became the way that women were brought into the executive suites. All HR Departments are now hot beds of sedition working against the best interests of the company, the economy, and the employees. Interestingly, where you find women engineers, you do not see these destructive traits.
HR now controls all the hiring and firing at work. Guess who they’re reaching out to hire??

Ironically, my company’s HR department is called “Human Capital” instead of “Human Resources”. It always makes me feel like I should have an asset tag stapled to my ass.
And yes, their primary job nowadays seems to be “diversity and inclusion and sustainability” over actually taking care of employees. The tendrils are everywhere. TVs on the walls constantly showing quotes and pictures pertinent to the current Intersectionality Month (Black History Month, Hispanic History Month, Pride Month, Asian-American History Month, everybody gets a month except white people), stickers and magnets that say “Ally” and such things, etc. Meanwhile our merit increase pay process is a complicated crapshow and our pay system is junk.

One of the reasons I left my last job in a corporate management role was that I got tired of dealing with the abject idiocy of the HR department. So now I started my own firm and don’t bother with that sh!t ... and my former competitors now hire me because they’ve become bloated, inefficient dinosaurs.
Don’t tell anyone about this trade secret of mine. :-P
And now if you’ll excuse me, I need to reply to an email from my company’s Chief Diversity Officer and produce a convincing reason why I can’t attend yet another of xers “Developing Intersectional Allyship” struggle sessions.
Question: Why are most large corporations diversity departments VPs black women? Is that diversity?
