The volleys started when Carlson, in a nearly 14-minute segment, included Duckworth’s answer on CNN over the weekend when she was asked whether she also supported removing monuments honoring historical figures in U.S. history who were slave owners, such as George Washington.
In her response, which went on to criticize President Donald Trump’s recent appearance at Mount Rushmore, Duckworth said there should be a national dialogue on the issue at some point. When pressed, Duckworth said, “I think we should listen to everybody.”
On his show Monday night, Carlson noted that Duckworth is among the contenders to be Democrat Joe Biden’s running mate this fall and criticized her call for a national dialogue on the historical monuments issue.
“You’re not supposed to criticize Tammy Duckworth in any way because she once served in the military,” Carlson said. “Most people just ignore her. But when Duckworth does speak in public, you’re reminded what a deeply silly and unimpressive person she is.”
“A national dialogue? Please. They’re not looking for a colloquy. What they want is a soliloquy. We speak, you shut up and listen ... it’s long been considered out of bounds to question a person’s patriotism. It’s a very strong charge and we try not ever to make it. But in the face of all of this, the conclusion can’t be avoided. These people actually hate America.”

Yep the ones who put in the work are patriotic. There is a woman I work with and she is an Army vet. She did an easy desk job, did the minimum work whilst in her words and votes Democrat, does not like the country , but plays on being a veteran. She also admits she joined to get free college and the benefits, and even still tries to get discounts at places like Chic-fil A
Tucker hit another home run. She lost her legs and apparently her patriotism towards out nation.
Then go on the show and discuss it!

Vietnam Era Vet here. When I served there were criminals who chose to be inducted vs jail time , several ran theft rings and another an admitted child molestor.
If General George Washington is fair game, so is LT Col Tammy Duckworth.

Wish that were true. Her father was American. Makes her natural born by blood. If she maintained a Thai pass-part...that would be questionable.
Was she born at a military base? McCain was and he was cleared for the Presidential run as it is considered US property.
I don’t think Carlson crossed a line. Duckworth outright lied about Trump’s speech, but claims she listened to it, when she obviously didn’t. Then she refuses to admit she wants Washington statues pulled down, by hiding behind the “dialogue” gambit the left always pulls when they don’t want to admit what they really want. Then she refuses to come on his show to discuss her views unless Carlson made a public apology before she would come on. All of us have the right and the obligation to call out these liars and vandals.
Many if not most confederate high ranking officers served with good patriotic service in the US military prior to 1861. Today I don’t think any Democrat is going to absolve them of any inappropriate behavior in the post 1860 period of their careers on account of that. And they are right to not give them an automatic pass for prior service to the US.
Same standard applies to Duckworth. Her current in the Senate service is all we need to know to judge her worthiness of praise or blame.
