If were inclined to glide past the Marxist fingerprints all over Americas current turmoil, assuming its ideas will flare up for a while and then burn out, were not paying attention.
American institutions have stoked the coals of Karl Marx’s destructive ideology, fanning its flames until his notions have consumed our cultural pillars.
Far from being forgotten and irrelevant, Marx’s ideas pervade key institutions, from universities and schools, to mass media and popular entertainment, to major corporations and medicine, to the arts and sciences. Theyve even seeped into many churches and seminaries. Of course, they also define the Democratic Party, Joe Biden and Nancy Pelosi no less than Bernie Sanders and Barack Obama.
I dont mean such clunky ideas from “Das Kapital” as the dictatorship of the proletariat, the labor theory of value, or the withering away of the state. No, were talking about the substratum of assumptions about how the world works, underlying those discredited notions from bygone days.
The poisoned root of all of it is something called “dialectical materialism,” a concept Marx borrowed from Hegel that describes how material needs create social conflict. The two men saw the material world as distinct and independent from the spirit and mind, and maintained that attempting to combine the material and immaterial bred inconsistencies. For our purposes here, suffice it to say the materialism part disallows all things spiritual, and the dialectical part disallows all things fixed or permanent or unchanging.
So were left with nothing but atoms in endless flux, physical forces violently colliding in a grim world where might makes right and brutal will reigns supreme. If that sounds like the radical autonomous zone in Seattle, its no coincidence.
Cultural Marxism is increasingly defining the worldview within which all debates and decision-making take place, even for most of those who rightly fear and despise Marx. This philosophy is on an accelerating trajectory to deconstructing the American way of life from top to bottom, leaving no sphere of our daily lives untouched.
Its deconstruction agenda takes three main forms: Marxism dehumanizes all persons, demoralizes all relationships, and decivilizes all institutions.
Dehumanizing all persons. No one is anything more than his or her DNA and appearance, plus whatever animal instincts he happens to feel at a given time. From this comes identity politics, racial and sexual polarization, group victimhood, and group guilt. This logically results in demoralizing relationships.
Demoralizing all relationships. Since individuals are mere meat in motion, and existence is mere randomness, morality as all the world religions have known it is gone. No two people can interact on the basis of objective right and wrong.
Whats right or good is instead the mere product of quantitative mass (how many persons want it) times qualitative intensity (how much emotion they express). Dignity, property, marital and family ties, marketplace exchanges, contracts and promises, tradition and heritage, vulnerability, duty, love, and life itself all go to zero.
Decivilizing all institutions. People and relationships having thus been zeroed out. Institutions of whatever sort, including communities or nations, obviously cannot stand either. An institution is but an agreement or understanding entered into by people, meant to outlive them and endure through time, all of which is viewed as absurd and dissolves under the acid of dialectical materialism. All bets are off.
Civis, Latin for city, which gives rise to our ideas of civilization and civility, civics and the citizen, goes on the ash heap of history. Language, the institution enabling people in communities to communicate even to seek and express truth gets trashed as well. Truth is whatever one wants it to be. Plain speaking must bow to political correctness, itself a purely Marxist term.
It bears repeating that life is devalued to zero under this nightmare of deconstruction America is now experiencing. One can draw a connection to George Orwells anti-Marxist masterpiece “Animal Farm.” All animals are equal, says Napoleon the pig reassuringly. Its just that some animals are more equal than others.
In the same way, were now being told some lives matter more than others by the leaders of a mass movement decivilizing our cities and seeking to incite a race war. It shouldnt surprise us that one of those leaders has bluntly and proudly said on camera, Were trained Marxists. Hearing that, do we shrug and make excuses for her since, after all, a lot of pain can accompany being black in this country?
Or are we shocked at the cynicism that would so disserve the very people her movement claims to champion? Are we surprised at the gullibility of so many of our fellow citizens of all colors who would trust a Marxist to do anything but defame and damage the United States of America at every opportunity?
If were not shocked, angered, and determined to turn back this and every attempt at deconstructing our country by the disciples and dupes of Marx, a hater of humanity and agent of evil, we are unworthy of our forebears’ sacrifices and our descendants’ hopes.
If were inclined to glide past the Marxist fingerprints all over Americas current turmoil, chalking it up to wokeness or cancel culture or the left or some other vague fad we assume will flare up for a while and then burn out, were not paying attention.
It was specifically Marxs ideas, according to the “Black Book of Communism,” that took 100 million lives worldwide in the last century. How many more will they take in this one? Thats up to you and me. We cant say we werent warned.
Let’s hope this is not shockingly new opinion for the majority of Americans. They only watch CNN and read the NYT so maybe it is.
We have work to do.
Most think it can’t happen here.
It already has happened tell me by what measure the American way of life is still intact?
Marxists most easily take over top-down governments and societies.
If societies are used to be control by a king, czar or general, with their central planning and control, then its relatively easy to for marxists to grab control of the levers at the top of that structure.
the USA was once place of dispersed powers, local control and small government. When reading the words of our Founders, simply replace Marxist with king or tyrant” (marxists were unknown to our founders) and you will understand exactly why they designed the system they did.
Now, in the name of Progressivism, we have created a HUGE central government, reduced the powers of local governments (thats why local police and elections are in their sights), and are printing unlimited paper money. It wont be long before Marxists simply grab control of the levers at the top.
Unfortunately, that is probably true. And, a large portion of that group hide under their beds while it is actually happening at an accelerating rate.
More disturbing, due to a lack of education, "most" may actually want it to "happen here"; see H. Clinton's recent popular vote.
It is time to make a very serious offer to anyone who really hates the country. They need to be given a one-way ticket to another country (I think Ghana will welcome them), and a little cash to start out. Consider it reparations. If they stay, they join the pursuit of life, liberty, and happiness. It will wind up costing the country itself to not ship these people out.
The current insurrection is clearly Marxist in origin. It is blatant, transparent, and obvious that is is Marxist.
Marxist.
So why on earth do so many people call it fascist.
As in “Antifa are the real fascists” and similar sentiments.
Sure, fascism is evil and totalitarian, and its adherents were not nearly as good at PR as communists are. Marxism and fascism are distinct ideologies. They are incompatible because each seeks to impose its own totalitarian vision.
The beginning of wisdom is to call things by their true name. The current insurrection is rooted in Marxism, not fascism.
We need to educate people to understand that Marxism is every bit as evil as the worst of fascism.
You’re right: we have a lot of work to do.
While historically true, that approach has been difficult in the case of our nation.
The Left has quickly realized the economies and speed to be enjoyed by first taking power at local elected levels (mayors, city councils, boards of supervisors, D.A.'s, etc). That is where the voters are and those offices are much easier targets.
It is obvious local terrorists-rioters are currently allowed a broad, if not shocking amount of freedom of conduct that would just yesterday be regarded as criminal.
IMO, the future of the nation will turn on the Electoral College during the next two cycles, along with actions taken at the federal level.
Even Marxism is protected by our 1st Amendment. Let’s fix that law first. If you want to protect evil, then you must learn to live with it.
Everyone should read Friedrich Hayek (...ahem). His central thesis was that it is impossible to enforce a command economy without having a totalitarian state. And totalitarian state always leads to oppression and the elimination of the individual. Always.
When a nation walks away from God, something evil will fill the vacuum.
There’s only one way that is certain to stop marxists. And it should have been done 100 years ago, or at the least when Joe McCarthy sounded the alarm; when it would have been a lot easier. By the way, McCarthy was right.
“So why on earth do so many people call it fascist.
As in Antifa are the real fascists and similar sentiments.”
Because people in today’s America take being called a hypocrite as a much more serious insult than being called a Marxist.
You write: “Even Marxism is protected by our 1st Amendment. Lets fix that law first.”
What’s your proposed fix? Let’s put aside the practical problem that the 13 bluest states can block any amendment to the Constitution. Even if enough states were on board, it isn’t easy to rewrite the First Amendment in a way that empowers the government to deal with truly dangerous speech and yet doesn’t open the door to abuse.

Just alot of Dead Leftists (this is America ...)
.
"We, the People" must be equipped to distinguish and between the principles that would keep America free and prosperous and the false premises that will enslave her, as well as able to articulate them. Accommodating tyranny by failing to call it what it is is dangerous.
For decades, we needed a leader whose words rang true and strong and courageous and were based in the principles of our Declaration of Independence.
American citizens need to wake up to the counterfeit ideas and false "hopes" offered by politicians who use "promises," just as the rest of us use "currency."
They buy votes with "promises" in order to gain power to themselves and their ilk. Then, when "hopes" are dashed, "the people" they have promised to help (the naive, the poor, the ignorant--even the "educated" who are ignorant of liberty vs. tyranny) find themselves enslaved, working for those who have purchased their power in the most despicable manner--by offering "hope and change." Thus it has ever been.
The people who founded America were not so "dumbed down." Hear two of them:
"It is proper to take alarm at the first experiment on our liberties. We hold this prudent jealousy to be the first duty of citizens and one of the noblest characteristics of the Revolution. The freemen of America did not wait till usurped power had strengthened itself by exercise and entangled the question in precedents. They saw all the consequences in the principle [usurpation of power] and they avoided the consequences by denying the principle. We revere this lesson too much . . . to forget it." - James Madison
" . . . nip the shoots of arbitrary power in the bud, is the only maxim which can ever preserve the liberties of any people. When the people give way, their deceivers, betrayers, and destroyers press upon them so fast, that there is no resisting afterwards. The nature of the encroachment upon the American constitution is such, as to grow every day more and more encroaching. Like a cancer, it eats faster and faster every hour. The revenue creates pensioners, and the penshioners urge for more revenue. The people grow less steady, spirited, and virtuous, the seekers more numerous and more corrupt, and every day increases the circles of their dependents and expectants, until virtue, integrity, public spirit, simplicity, and frugality, become the objects of ridicule and scorn, and vanity, lusury, foppery, selfishness, meanness and downright venality swallow up the whole society." - John Adams
Further, it was not just the founding leaders who were well-informed about their constitution and approaching threats to its protections. By the Year 1830, when the French jurist Tocqueville traveled America, he wrote admiringly of the citizenry, observing that even the backwoodsman was far more well-read and informed than those in other parts of the world, and that they understood their Constitution, and had with them a Bible and a newspaper. Sadly, beginning in the mid-20th Century, our "government" schools removed the ideas of liberty from the nation's textbooks, largely under the guise of a counterfeit idea of "separation of church and state," and the citizenry is uninformed as to the difference between tyranny and liberty.
Today, with all modern means of communication, many Americans continue to possess little understanding of threats to their liberty and, thus, risk losing it to charlatans whose only goal is power for themselves and the Democrat Party whom they serve--Pelosi and Schumer typify such charlatans.
We won the Cold War—Lost the peace. Soon we will try the experiment called Marxism. How many Americans will die? How many have died so far? Soon all of us on FR will be sentenced to the Camps in Alaska. We will work cutting trees and forced to watch Tom Hanks in his hit “The Joys of Peoples Socialism.” Don’t see the movie or answer the questions of its Message—NO FOOD! Other Oscar hits?
