Miranda and “Hamilton” producer Jeffrey Seller took to social media back in May when they were criticized for not vocally supporting Black Lives Matter and allegedly being silent about police brutality amid the George Floyd protests.
“We spoke out on the day of the Pulse shooting. We spoke out when Vice President Mike Pence came to our show 10 days after the election. That we have not yet firmly spoken the inarguable truth that Black Lives Matter and denounced systematic racism and white supremacy from our official Hamilton channels is a moral failure on our part,” Miranda said in a video message.“As the writer of the show, I take responsibility and apologize for my part in this moral failure,” the 40-year-old composer, producer and playwright added.
“‘Hamilton’ doesn’t exist without the black and brown artists who created and revolutionized and changed the world through the culture, music and language of hip-hop,” Miranda said. “Literally, the idea of the show doesn’t exist without the brilliant black and brown artists in our cast, crew and production team who breathe life into this story every time it’s performed.”
The weekend debut of the film, however, proved how fast things change as leftists moved in to cancel “Hamilton” because it’s now not woke enough.

It’s not funny. Hamilton’s premiere on streaming is one of the few things that gave me hope. As a sort of antidote to the woke Marxist insanity. I hope impressionable children watched it at least.
I have a problem with that too. I’m sure these people would have no problem with a musical called KING with MLK plus all the other civil rights leaders being represented by White actors!
The Left used to wait an entire generation before flipping their standards of good and bad. Now the time scale is about a year or so. This is dismaying to most everyone other than Democrat rank and file and some slower-witted children.
I watched it the day Disney+ started streaming it. Having never seen Hamilton before, I was impressed.
Don’t think that would make any difference since broadway is currently closed if I remember correctly. Then again. Perhaps antifa needs to visit eiger’s house.
It is actually a very good show. Saw it in NYC because my daughter wanted to. I was 100% sure I would hate it. I was 100% wrong.
I tried to watch it. I lasted maybe 7 minutes. I’ll try again another day. It did inspire me to read up on Alexander Hamilton. My favorite professor wrote a biography on Hamilton, and I never read it.
I think the entire cast was composed of minorities. White actors need not apply.
These people are such march in lock step cowards. I work at a university where one of the administrators is urging us all to read the piece of garbage book “White Fragility.” She thought it was wonderful. The reviews I’ve read of the thing say it essentially says all white people are racist and that if you get angry, defensive, or insulted by the charge, it’s further evidence you’re a racist. It’s your white fragility born of guilt and genetic racism that makes you react that way.
Tucker Carlson lambasted it last night on his program. His is the only voice of reason in the entire country. Even in my small, rural town demonstrators gathered to support this nonsense. They, as a group, at the instructions of their noble leader, went down on one knee. The county and all of its institutions were accused of “systemic institutional racism.” I’ve heard of systemic insecticides, but would someone please explain to me what systemic institutional racism means? Churches, schools, libraries, courts, police, hospitals, little theater groups—all systemically racist?

Absolutely incredible that these liberal idiots think that bashing Mike Pence at a Broadway show is some sort of courageous, truth-to-power action. Being civil to Mike Pence at Broadway show would be courageous.
