On the Mayor’s home planet “guns” are sentient beings, where not controlled by human overlords, they are responsible for 88% of crime and 99% of “gun violence”.

Mayor Lightweight still cannot admit that firearms are inanimate objects with no volition of their own, nor with any ability to do anything except sit exactly where they were last placed by a human being. Guns are NOT the problem - they NEVER have been - it is always the humans. They are just like computers and the internet; you can use them to take courses or watch documentaries that will expand your knowledge, or you can watch porn. It is up to the human to decide for better or worse.
This lady knows this but, again, she cannot admit otherwise because to do so would be to admit her lack of accomplishment in fighting violent crime in her (s)c(h)it(t)y. Oh, and by taking this stance, she is also implicitly calling anyone who buys her story a moron...because only a moron would buy it.
You BANNED guns and you STILL had tons of people shooting each other. Meanwhile, other places with tons of guns DON’T have all these murders.
